Lamborghini has a tradition of producing some of the most outrageous and extreme supercars made by any exotic car builder.
Throughout its history, the company that started as a tractor manufacturer has never disappointed to produce state-of-the-art automobiles with an edge. What begins with a preposterous concept car finishes with a production model that makes its competitor, Ferrari look conservative by comparison. While the Lamborghini performance has always ranked near the top of the list of the fastest and best handling sportscars made, the appearance of even the standard model seems cutting-edge.
Following that tradition, a few owners of Lamborghini, not satisfied with the unique options offered from the factory, choose to create their own outlandish versions. Some could be described as fascinating or exciting, while others just poor taste.
Here are twenty customized Lamborghini supercars their owners should be embarrassed to drive.
20 Fluorescent Pink Diablo Glows in the Dark
The fluorescent pink paint on this Lamborghini, accented by gold body panels around the vents and engine cover makes it easy to find the car left in a large parking lot at night.
No doubt the vehicle attracts the attention of all onlookers, not for the sleek and elegant aerodynamic form of the Diablo but the owner’s questionable taste.
19 Splash Water on a Lamborghini Gallardo to Reveal Superhero
Created by German artist Rene Turrek, this heat-sensitive Lamborghini Gallardo appears purplish at first, but when hot water is splashed on the hood, it reacts with the thermochromic paint and reveals a surprise.
The pigment in the paint becomes colorless, and a superhero figure appears. The novelty would be amusing on a Volkswagen beetle, but on an expensive, exotic Lambo it seems out of place.
18 Wrapped Lamborghini Advertisement
Most people would be embarrassed to drive around in a vehicle with advertising splashed all over the body and windshield. This Lamborghini promotes Nike products and specifically “Air Jordon 1” shoes.
However, if the car were merely on loan with all expenses paid, the supply of volunteers would probably be endless.
17 Off-White Chrome Lambo
The “Off White” clothing fashion label was founded in Milan, Italy in 2012. The company has 24 independent stores and is offered by others including Le Bon Marché, Harrods, Selfridges, and Barneys.
The company also has this chrome-wrapped Lamborghini Huracan that bears the company’s diagonal line motif logo. While the logo may not be unique, the chrome finish on the Lambo is rare.
16 2017 Lamborghini Huracán Pink Exoskeleton
The exoskeleton of this Unicorn V3, the project of exotic car fanatic site Daily Driven Exotics’ Alex Choi and Sheepey Race of Murrieta, California, mimics the shape of the original Huracán’s body.
While the desert rally car, inspired by the extraordinary Flip Car from The Fast & Furious 6 film, may be functional, it has lost the Lambo style.
15 Hot Rod Lamborghini
Danton Arts Kustoms, based in France, starts with a European exotic like Porsche or Lamborghini and puts its own twist on it. The crazy mods include chopping the roof, exposing the engine, and lowering to the ground, among others.
While these builds are done with high-end craftsmanship, often the results only show a hint of the original vehicle.
14 Tiger-Striped Lambo Parked in Handicap Space
Although the owner of this Lambo probably won’t get a ticket for the distraction the tiger-striped supercar causes when driven in traffic, it should be ticketed (or even towed) for parking in a handicap space.
However, a parking violation is unlikely because everyone knows Lamborghini owners get special privileges because their cars are so expensive and well… they are Lambos.
13 Dubai $550,000 Lamborghini Squad Car
There are so many high-performance cars owned by the citizens of Dubai the police department was obligated to purchase Lamborghini squad cars valued at $550,000. Police are no longer embarrassed now that they can keep up with speeding cars. Speeders can easily read in their rearview mirror, “Police” painted on the front of the cop car following close behind.
However, the paint job of a Lambo police car just doesn’t do the exotic supercar justice.
12 Chris Brown Fighter Jet Lamborghini
Chris Brown thought a Lamborghini Gallardo done in a WWII fighter theme would be attractive. The only attention it gets is from observers on the street that wonder why a beautiful Lamborghini was ruined by gun-metal aircraft theme.
It’s not clear if the Rising Sun flags and the small airplane decals represent victory marks used by U.S. pilots or victories over street vehicles Chris raced.
11 The Bubblegum Pink Nicki Minaj Lamborghini Aventador
While most people would be embarrassed to drive any car painted bubblegum pink and especially a Lamborghini, Nicki Minaj has no reservations. The bright pink sportscar was used for the launch of her Kmart fashion line.
Attracting attention was her objective, and she succeeded with the Lambo (along with her fashionable outfit and long flowing blond hair).
10 Bosozoku Lamborghini an Abomination
This Bosozoku Lamborghini with its chrome exhaust tips that extend skyward more than 6 feet, leopard skin wrap, and huge spoiler accented by tiny lights, is so out there it’s beyond embarrassing.
While it may be a winner in the crazy Japan car culture, it’s not what most Lamborghini enthusiasts consider a tastefully customized supercar.
9 Green 2017 Lamborghini Huracan Coupe Lp610-4
The 2017 Lamborghini Huracan Coupe Lp610-4 is equipped with a 5.2 L. V-10 providing an acceleration of 0 to 100 kmh in a mere 3.2 seconds.
The beautiful and outrageous styling would make this supercar the envy of every Lambo enthusiast, were it not for the Verde Ermes, described by the owner as, “…a rare and unique color…”
8 Military 2017 Lamborghini Huracan?
Although the military does camouflage many of its vehicles with patterned schemes, it also uses a more traditional drab green. Appropriate for combat vehicles that need to attract as little attention as possible, the color is not the best choice for an exotic sports car.
Perhaps the owner of this one is a five-star general who lives and breathes everything military.
7 Lamborghini Family Road Trip Vehicle
Families and individuals who want cargo space in the car to transport the kid’s sports equipment or some extra bags for a long trip, buy an SUV or a pickup truck. Sometimes the cargo requirements grow (along with the family), and more space is required.
An add-on cargo carrier is the right solution. But on a Lamborghini? Even if the shape is aerodynamic like this one, it just doesn’t look right.
6 Lamborghini Drag Racer?
Although this drag racer is not based on a real Lamborghini, it still represents a conflict of racing styles. A Lamborghini with its sharp edges, sleek lines, and seamless design is built with exceptional handling characteristics at high speeds.
A drag racer’s brute force design permits it to blast down a straightaway with extraordinary acceleration and no turns.
5 World’s Fastest Camera Car
The objective for creating this outrageously expensive camera vehicle (a $500,000 camera gimbal mounted on a $200,000 supercar) was perhaps, the precise recording of the Lamborgini driving experience in high definition.
However, this Huracan with the bulky mechanism cantilevered from the front trunk area will not only suffer a loss of acceleration, but the cornering dynamics must be severely altered.
4 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder Novitec Torado Pea Green
Green is a color most often associated with nature…and vegetables. It is used in decorating for its calming effect and is thought to relieve stress and help heal.
Paul Brunton wrote, "Green, which is Nature's color, is restful, soothing, cheerful, and health-giving." However, pea green on a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, the embodiment of motion and excitement, seems contradictory.
3 Worlds First Gold Plated Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
If the body of this Lamborghini was made of gold and it was approximately 50% of the total car’s weight (about 3,700 lbs.) the vehicle would be worth more melted down and formed into gold bars. Using the current price of gold at $1,281.83 per oz., the gold extracted from the Lambo would be worth over $45 million.
However, the gold on this Lambo is just a wrap.
2 Two Embarrassing Wraps are Better than One
One wrap looks like the pattern one might find on a disposable baby diaper, while the other looks like a random display of puzzle pieces yet to be fit together.
What makes the appearance of both Lambos even worse is the pattern on both cars is not continuous from the front trunk cover to the fenders.
1 Chrome Mirror Lambo
“…when you drive home today, you've got a big windshield on the front of your car. And you've got a little bitty rearview mirror. And the reason the windshield is so large, and the rearview mirror is so small is because what's happened in your past is not near as important as what's in your future.” Joel Osteen
For this chrome-wrapped Lambo, the car is the mirror.
