Dad Transforms Hospital Sheets Into Board Games For Young Patients to Enjoy

A dad has created bedsheets with board games printed on them to keep children entertained during hospital stays.

There are a number of things and a number of places that children find boring. Let's be honest, they can sometimes be pretty hard to keep entertained at the best of times. Even when they are doing something they normally enjoy, depending on their age and their mood, they can claim to be bored just to throw a spanner in the works.

Kevin Gatlin's neat idea may quell that boredom, at least for a little while. The father has created Playtime Bed Sheets. Duvet covers with board games and even lessons printed on them since some children will be missing school while in hospital. Kevin told Scary Mommy that the idea came to him while he was in hospital and he wondered what on Earth his own son would do to stay entertained if he were in that same position.

"My wife used to utilize the bed with our son, they would play board games, they would do homework assignments," Kevin explained while continuing to reveal the inspiration behind the idea. The range includes both bedsheets and sleeping bags, and a range of different subjects are covered from math to geography to history.

The sheets have been snapped up by ten hospitals so far and you can also buy them online for your own home. Kevin points out that even after your child has been released from hospital, depending on why they were in there, they might well need more bedrest and time off school for weeks afterward. What better way to keep them active, entertained, and educated than via these innovative bedsheets?
