The 21-year-old YouTube vlogger, whose parents went to jail for their part in the college admissions scandal, spoke to People about her experience getting ready for this season of the show.

Since she was picked to compete a few weeks ago, she has been getting ready and seeing what the life of a professional dancer is really like.

Giannulli Says She Did Not Realize How Hard Dancing Is

The one thing that Olivia has noticed since starting up rehearsals is that dancing is not an easy thing to do.

The young starlet has quickly realized after a few weeks of practice that there is much more to it than tapping your toes.

“It's so much more work than you really anticipate with the dedication and the patience you have to have with yourself," she told the outlet during an interview at Las Vegas’ iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Giannulli explained that she thought it was going to be easier because when watching it, that is how the dancers on the show make it appear.

"The pros make it look so effortless and easy, but once you get in there and they're really teaching you the steps, it's way harder than I ever thought,” she said.

“But what I will say is the pros do such a good job.”

She also said that she is going into the show, which premieres tonight, as an amateur.

"I would not consider myself a dancer by any means," she lamented.

Giannulli said that she has gotten frustrated with her lack of skill, and that sometimes she feels disheartened when she cannot do a certain step.

"I think the hardest part is, honestly, when you can't figure out a move or do it incorrectly and then you're like, 'Oh my gosh, am I ever gonna figure this out? Am I ever gonna comprehend what's going on?"

She explains that whenever that happens, the coaches step in and train her on how to do it.

"It can get a little frustrating, but obviously that's what the coaches are for. And they're so great. So it's been a blast."
