Looking at some of the industry's most illustrious musicians, not all of them pass the rock'n'roll gene on to their kids. For example, Madonna's kids don't seem to be very musical. None of Bono's kids, especially his daughters, have really followed in their dad's path.

Even the King of Pop Michael Jackson couldn't imbue his love of his favorite genre in his daughter; Paris Jackson may be pursuing music, but it's decidedly folksy rather than pop- and rock-influenced.

But when it comes to epic musician Dave Grohl, former Nirvana member and frontman of the Foo Fighters, it's a different story.

Dave Grohl has three kids, all daughters: Violet, Harper, and Ophelia. His eldest, Violet, turned 14 this year. But she reached a more significant milestone in 2019, as Loudwire pointed out: she went onstage with her dad at the Leeds Festival.

Dave gave his girl a warm introduction, telling the audience that Violet is the best singer he knows (only the rocker used an expletive to describe his oldest daughter). He also said it was Violet's idea for her to sing on stage with the band, so fans can probably assume that she picked the song, too. As for the tune she chose, of course, it was the well-known "My Hero."

Though, Dave has said that he likes to perform one song from each Foo Fighters album at each concert, says Loudwire, so maybe "My Hero" was on the roster anyhow.

But Violet's appearance at that 2019 concert wasn't her only time joining the band. She also performed at a Nirvana reunion with her dad, stepping into Kurt Cobain's role on stage.

In short, Dave's kid is one of the coolest teens out there, and she's probably a better drummer than most fans, too. But apart from that, fans don't know a ton about Violet Grohl. She is, after all, still a kid -- a teen who's in school and dealing with growing up in her dad's shadow. Though, how long that will last is somewhat debatable.

But it does sound like Violet and her younger sisters approach their musical inspiration a tad differently than dad. In fact, Dave said he took his girls to a Billie Eilish concert and was sorta blown away. Let's just say, he respects what Billie's doing, but he was also totally miffed at how crazed his daughters (and the rest of the audience) get over Eilish.

As for Violet, she already has a bit of a fan following, so maybe one day soon, she'll give Billie a run for the alternative star's money. Fans have created an Instagram account for Violet, and it seems like they're more than a little obsessed. Who can blame them, though -- it's not every day fans get a mini-Dave to keep them rocking through the ages.
