Following the moment, the host would proceed by saying, "I'm going to check on that top ten," as the show would cut to commercial. When they came back on the air, Crispin was no longer in the chair... leading fans to believe that it all might've been completely true.

Crispin is still asked about the interview viewed by millions and the actor is insistent on keeping things a mystery.

"Well, the thing that I say in media, which we're in right now -- what I always answer is, "I neither confirm nor deny that I was ever on the David Letterman show." Which, of course, there's a sense of humor to it -- you can make what you want. When people ask me at my shows, I go into a lot of detail about anything. But, in media, that's what I always say."

Crispin would drop other hints alongside the Huff Post, stating that he isn't interested in publicity and instead, he just loves to be an actor.

"I mean, when I started acting, my concept about publicity... my interest was just to be an actor. I was never really that comfortable with publicity."

The actor would further reveal that if it was up to him, he wouldn't do interviews at all. Nonetheless, it didn't work out that way, and he got the fans talking.
