Throughout 2020, Demi Lovato made sure to use her platform in order to share her frustration at the Trump presidency. Her latest tweets suggest that Demi hopes to continue condemning his actions, but with some support from her music. We're certain Demi only intends to educate her fans through art, but the singer seems to have gone a bit far this time. And she hasn't even released the song yet. Earlier today, Demi shared her thoughts on the violent US Capitol siege by a Pro-Trump mob, and revealed she was working on something "special", after witnessing the assault on democracy. Someone ask Demi to read the room, please. RELATED: Demi Lovato Gets Emotional Over The Time She Met Joe Biden And Kamala Harris

Another Political Ballad On The Way?

Fans hope not. Demi has been appreciated for voicing her concerns and sharing her disdain for the Presidency, but she will not be applauded for making music inspired by an incident as devastating as this one. "I’m angry, embarrassed and ashamed," Demi shared about the incident, before making the unexpected announcement. "My heart is broken. It makes me sad to believe how naive I was to think this couldn’t possibly happen, and yet it did."

"I’m in the studio working on something special after today’s assault on democracy," she added, but the news isn't sitting well with fans.

Demi's fans were furious, and made sure to call her out for it.

A fan kindly explained, "We need new music from you to escape the scary world we are living in...these highly political songs are just not it."

"We appreciate u using your platform but we don't need no songs about it," another fan shared.

"Please read the room and don't drop a track about this," a fan wrote, while several others tweeted, implying that Scooter Braun was a terrible manager, and deliberately set Demi up for the hate she's receiving.

Recently, Lovato made headlines for her song Commander In Chief, a political anthem which questioned Trump's actions (or the lack of) towards racial injustice. The singer previously asserted that her song was meant to call out the President's mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic and the dismantling of LGBTQ rights.
