Demi Lovato has had a busy 2021 so far; performing at President Joe Biden's Inauguration ceremony and releasing new music with Sam Fischer.
She's finally catching up on Matt James' season of The Bachelor, and Demi has some thoughts. In fact, the singer believes one of the contestants to be actor Anya Taylor-Joy from The Queen's Gambit. Obviously, it isn't her!
NYU Student Kit Keenan Or Actor Anya Taylor-Joy?
Demi captured the conversation between bachelor Matt James and contestant Kit Keenan during a date, sharing the video to her Instagram stories. "Okay but I feel like I just watched this girl play chess on Netflix," she captioned the video.
Kit Keenan is the youngest contestant on The Bachelor vying for Matt James' heart. She shares an unmissable resemblance with Anya Taylor-Joy, which led to Demi to think she had seen her elsewhere. Unlike Taylor-Joy, Kit is a born-and-raised New Yorker who lives in the West Village.
The daughter of American fashion designer Cynthia Crowley, Kit is an undergraduate student at New York University, who is looking for a man who can measure up to the level of "emotional intelligence" she needs.
According to her cast member bio for The Bachelor, Kit is looking for a serious commitment regardless of her young age. She can "surf in heels" and can't deal with "men in flip-flops".
Previously, the newly-minted reality television star acknowledged her striking resemblance with Anya Taylor-Joy, and even joked about it in a post on Instagram.
The Bachelor contestant posed next to a chess board, and shared the photo to Instagram, writing "check mate. officially adding @anyataylorjoy impersonator to my resume." Her mother, Cynthia Rowley was in full agreement, as were several Bachelor Nation fans.
"Yes! I watched the show and immediately saw the resemblance. QUEENS," wrote @adriana.a.mor.
"Crazy....I saw it right away and came to your bio so I could share with the bachelor group! You look just like her!" shared @tiffnh2002.
There was a rather serious chess enthusiast in the comments section, who found some inconsistencies in Kit's method of playing the game.
@jgreendale wrote, "This board is impossible. Why are both kings next to each-other? That’s not allowed."
Just because Kit resembles the actor, it doesn't mean she's a genius chess player!
