Demi Lovato has been cruelly trolled for asking their fans not to comment on their body in the future.

The singer/songwriter - who came out as non-binary last week - says it could trigger someone who has an eating disorder.

"I [don't know] who needs to hear this but complimenting someone on their weight loss can be as harmful as complimenting someone on their weight gain in regards to talking to someone in recovery from an eating disorder," the 28-year-old pansexual pop star - told her 213.7M social media followers via their Insta story.

"If you don't know someone's history with food, please don't comment on their body. Because even if your intention is pure, it might leave that person awake at 2am overthinking that statement."

The "Dancing With The Devil" artist continued: "Does it feel great? Yeah, sometimes. But only to the loud a** eating disorder voice inside my head that says, 'See, people like a thinner you' or 'If you eat less you'll lose even more weight.' But it can also sometimes suck because then I start thinking, 'Well, damn. What'd they think of my body before?'

"Moral of the story: I am more than the shell for my soul that is my body and everyday I fight to remind myself of that, so I'm asking you to please not remind me that that is all people see of me sometimes."

In her 2017 YouTube documentary, Simply Complicated, the singer was super candid about living with an eating disorder.

She stated simply that food is “still the biggest challenge in my life.”

Lovato's statement came a month after their public spat with LA frozen yogurt shop The Bigg Chill, which they says triggered their eating disorder.

"My intentions were not to come in and bully a small business, that was not it," the former Disney star explained of the April 18 scandal.

"I walked in, and got so triggered I left without fro-yo, and it made me really sad. That's all it was and I wanted to talk about that."

While many fans were receptive and understanding to Demi's point, others were quick to slam the Grammy-nominated artist.

"Nobody should comment on other peoples bodies .. unless of course you are putting on show for $$$$$$$," one person wrote online.

"My friend lost 5 stone through a tremendous effort, she looks fabulous and I told her so. What part of that is harmful?" a second added.
