Derek Hough first came to become a household name back in 2007 when he joined Dancing With The Stars as a pro in its 5th season.

While he was simply known as Julianne Hough's brother at the time, Derek cemented his status within the show and the industry in quite a short time! Since his start on the competition series, Derek holds the title for most Mirror Ball trophy wins!

With all his success on the show and his now 6-year-long relationship with Hayley Erbert, Derek took a stroll down memory lane and shared his most embarrassing moment on DWTS, and just which celeb it was with.

Derek Hough's Embarrassing 'DWTS' Moment

As one of the biggest names to come out of Dancing With The Stars, Derek Hough has certainly set the standard for ballroom dance.

Derek made his very first performance on the hit series in its fourth season, where he was only known as pr0-dancer, Julianne Hough's brother. Well, both stars have since gone on to dominate the industry, however, it took some bumps to get there, especially for Derek.

During his earlier days on DWTS, Derek claims he underwent one of the most embarrassing moments to ever happen on live television. Hough went on to describe the horrific moment as the worst thing that could possibly happen, and it happened with none other than actress, Jennie Garth!

Despite winning the competition a whopping six times, yes, SIX times, making him the leading Mirror Ball champ, Derek didn't always have his dance moves on lock.

During his very first season, Derek and Jennie were performing their second dance, and Derek ended up dropping Jennie! This was Hough's very first season and was not a cool moment to experience being the pro dancer of the two.

In addition to the dreaded moments of dropping Garth during their routine, Derek also had the pressure of living up to his last name.

Derek told Us Weekly during his Red Robin press tour, that this what a major season for him. "This is when I’m like, ‘This is my chance. I’m going to show what I've got. This is my first time on TV doing this.’ And I dropped my partner, Jennie Garth, on live television,” Derek said.

"Which by the way, dropping your partner and falling on live television … But it was, like, the worst thing, but the good thing about that is I got that out of the way real quick" Hough said laughing the moment off.

Not only did Derek prove himself throughout the series by winning the most times, but he's also gone from pro-dancer to judge, all while expanding into the film and music scene, making him a true triple threat!
