A short time ago, JoJo Siwa was known for her sparkles and bows, with fans wondering when she would, well, grow up. Though JoJo has recently changed her look, not much about her has changed that much.

JoJo is still all about loving herself and her look, plus she's all about being her authentic self, a feel-good bit that was completely cemented when Siwa publicly came out. She doesn't just talk the talk; she walks the walk.

But did her coming out hurt the JoJo Siwa brand?

Critics Are Concerned JoJo Is Taking A Miley Cyrus Turn

Some fans are concerned that JoJo will "end up" like Miley Cyrus; crashing and burning from her feel-good, kid-friendly image into the raunchier side of entertainment.

Yet it seems like those commenters are mistakenly associating JoJo's coming out and maintaining her persona as an artist with Miley's total stage-dive into chaos. To each their own, sure, but JoJo has still maintained her squeaky-clean (well, except for the glitter) image even after coming out and debuting her GF on the red carpet.

So is her branding really in danger?

JoJo Siwa's Popularity Grew When She Came Out

Fans don't need to worry about JoJo Siwa's future at this point. While there are a ton of different (lucrative) things she could wind up doing, coming out only widened her fanbase and gave her even more opportunities.

First off, her coming out was closely followed by an invite to perform on 'Dancing with the Stars,' and she's slated for a new reality show, too. But it's more than those highly publicized opportunities that prove JoJo's not at risk of sliding down in the public opinion.

A poll apparently proved that JoJo became "more famous" after she came out, says Insider. In fact, she is "better known" by a margin of nine percentage points, the publication states, which is a higher rate than "any other influencer" included in the piece of research.

As many fans have already realized, plenty of people (kids and parents both) find JoJo to be a great role model, and people tend to agree that Siwa's coming out and "living authentically" will inspire the starlet's fans.

It may not have required a survey to prove that fact, given the vast publicity JoJo has enjoyed so far in 2021, including a full-on Nickelodeon movie that she's the star of. But it's nice to know that celebrities -- even kids' entertainers -- no longer have to hide who they are in order to do what they love.
