Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall's feud has reignited since the announcement of a SATC reboot. Tensions arose when Cattrall began negotiating her wages, apparently causing a rift between herself and the rest of the cast.
From there more fights splattered across social media, including Cattrall calling out Parker for only reaching out online regarding her brother's death. Today, Cattrall will not take part in the reboot and Parker may have shared her view in an obvious manner without spelling it out.
Replaced By Bernie Sanders
After the photo of Bernie Sanders cuddled up with mittens and a face mask as accessories at the 2021 presidential inauguration, Parker used it in a surprising moment of shade.
She covered up Cattrall's face with the cutout image of Sanders in a well-known SATC promo shot. The curly-haired fashion icon captioned the post, "Like a needle in a haystack. X."
It's reasonable to see the picture as an opportunity taken to mock Cattrall. Out of all the photos in one's camera roll that could have been used to glorify Sanders, the only one available meant cutting out Cattrall?
Commenters had a lot to say, some of them simply adore the idea of Sanders in their favorite NYC binge series. Zoe Kravitz wrote, "yessssss i STAN."
Another defended Samantha Jones' reputation saying, "t's not funny 👎👎👎👎👎👎"
Why So Shady?
There has to be more happening behind-the-scenes to attempt to explain a post like this. We never thought of SJP as a mean girl, but publicly cutting an old friend out of a photo, regardless of your scuffles or professional separation, sounds like a mean girl move.
Cattrall has disabled her comments on Instagram to assumingly avoid ugly hate comments.
Well, it can't feel great that someone you used to share some of the best years of your life with continues to slam you via media. Even if the slams are difficult to call because of their passive nature.
She hasn't lashed out to return the burn, and we only wish the best for her future. Even if that means we won't get the trench coat, no-filter lunch conversations, and cherry red lipstick that only Samantha Jones can rock.
