Disney is one of the world's largest companies in the world and recently has stepped on board and supported the LGBTQ+ community. In the past, they have turned down ideas of gay characters, like Elsa, and even moved shows with gay characters, like Love, Victor, to Hulu and other streaming networks because it wouldn't promote 'family-friendly' content.

While you may not have noticed this lesbian couple in 'Finding Dory,' some people did and were actually outraged about it. They also snuck in a lesbian couple in 'Toy Story 4,' when Bonnie gets picked up from Kindergarten, which also caused an uproar.

However, the biggest nod to the community was in Onward. Officer Specter, voiced by Lena Waithe, is the first-ever confirmed lesbian character in a Disney film. The character talks about her girlfriend's kids distracting her because they were acting up. Pixar has been supportive for a while.

Throughout the movie, it is implied that he has a crush on Gaston, but that winds up not working out. The nod to his sexuality was a tribute to the 19991 movie's late lyricist, Howard Ashman, who was gay. The director of the live-action film, Bill Condon, is also gay, so this was a historic moment for the movie.
