The era of WandaVision ended earlier this year after the finale revealed that Wanda Maximoff was more powerful than Doctor Strange. It meant big things were coming, especially with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on the way.

Despite Wanda's good intentions, the superhero is always on the precipice of becoming a fully-fledged villain, as previously seen in WandaVision. A new report has shared that Elizabeth Olsen's superhero character is the real villain in the anticipated Doctor Strange sequel, and will be seen fighting off some Fox-Verse and MCU comics heavyweights.

The news has come as a surprise to fans of the MCU, who believe the plot is contradictory to her character in the Emmy-nominated series.

Wanda To Reveal The Extent Of Her Powers?

As per YouTuber and critic Grace Randolph, Wanda is going to fight against every character in the 2022 flick.

"All I've heard about #Wanda in #DoctorStrange2 is that she IS the VILLAIN so she's gonna fight EVERYBODY. #MCU #Fox & #Sony characters," Randolph wrote to Twitter.

Fans interjected quickly, citing that positioning Wanda as a villain seemed wrong to them. "I’m not against her being the villain but she seemed to see the error of her ways by the end of WV. Seems odd to revert back to that," a fan wrote.

"If she is THE villain, she better be redeemed & stick around the MCU for years to come," shared another user.

Some fans worried that more viewers would hate Wanda's character if she appeared to be malicious after WandaVision.

"I don't like that idea. Why her be the villain and have her look more villainous than after WandaVision. More people are going to hate her! I don’t like this."

CNBC's Daniel Richtman wrote that Wanda would fight a character from the "Fox-Verse" in the Doctor Strange sequel, and the resulting battle could beat the Sorcerer Supreme's Infinity War fight against Thanos.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to release on March 25, 2022, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch,

Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong among others.
