With a current net worth of around $219 Billion, Elon Musk is comprehensively the richest man on the planet. If the Tesla and SpaceX founder is able to have his way, he might also become the richest person on a total of two planets; Musk plans to bring life to Mars with SpaceX set to send manned missions to the planet by 2030. But back home on this planet, the billionaire is busy building something other than a space colony; a large family.Elon Musk has a total of seven living children, though he and his first wife welcomed a son who unfortunately passed away due to SIDS as an infant. There is, however, a rumor that Amber Heard's baby may be Musk's, but for now at least, it's only speculation. Now that he has five kids with his ex, plus two children with his on-off partner Grimes, does Elon plan to continue growing his brood?

Elon Musk Has Seven Children Already

Elon Musk lost his firstborn son Nevada Alexander Musk back in 2002 at the age of 10 weeks. This in turn pushed him and his wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson to try IVF. As a result, Wilson gave birth to twins Griffin and Xavier Musk in April 2004. However, it must be noted that Xavier filed an application to change his name to Vivian Jenna Wilson this year, and is no longer a Musk, officially.

Before Musk and Justine Wilson separated in 2008, the latter gave birth to three triplet sons in January 2006. The pair names them Kai, Saxon, and Damian and share custody of the five children.

Since then, Musk has fathered two further children with singer Grimes, who he has been dating since around 2018.

Musk and Grimes have both a son and daughter together, though the songstress admitted that the two had separated sometime around the arrival of their daughter. Their relationship status might fluctuate even more, as Musk has since been linked to another woman, but given their penchant for off-and-on pairings, fans wonder whether Grimes and Elon will reconcile and have even more children together.

Elon Musk Believes Population Collapse Is A Serious Problem For Planet Earth

Musk has been busy the past year and recently brokered a $44 Billion deal to buy Twitter. On the same platform, he had claimed last July that human beings were the custodians of life and wanted it be brought to Mars. On another thread, Musk had shared concern over the rising sales of adult diapers along with the dwindling sales of baby diapers in the US. The billionaire was emphatic in claiming during a Wall Street Journal event in December last year that civilization was going to crumble if people did not have more children.

"There are not enough people. I can’t emphasize this enough, there are not enough people. Low and rapidly declining birth rates are one of the biggest risks to civilization. Too many “good, smart people” think there are too many people in the world and that the population is growing out of control. It’s completely the opposite. If people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble. Mark my words."

Musk went on to joke that he was himself trying to set a good example and had to "practice what he preached," which was the reason he had so many children.

Elon Musk Definitely Wants More Children

Though he might be joking, somewhat, about doing his part to increase the planetary population, Elon has said that he wants more kids added to his brood. Who he'll have them with, of course, is up for debate.

Us Magazine reported in March 2022 that Grimes and Elon wanted at least two more kids together, though in the same article stated that the pair had split up while their surrogate was pregnant and weren't really 'together.'

Elon emphasized that the two still saw each other frequently and were "semi-separated but still love each other," which isn't the conventional setting for welcoming more kids, but might be just what Grimes and her boyfriend need.

As Grimes noted in an interview, the not-couple is "very fluid" and "best friends," which does sound like great footing to grow a family on.
