Hayden Panettiere grew up as an adorable child star and then transitioned to teenage and later adult roles. For a few years, she was one of the most recognizable and most booked young actresses. We all know Panettiere as the little girl from Remember the Titans, the cheerleader from the TV show Heroes, and famous country-pop star Juliette Barnes in Nashville. Her career was enviable, and she seemed like she was ready to become an A-lister, but that didn't exactly happen.

Instead, she stopped acting regularly, had a daughter, and then become a popular tabloid topic for her romantic life and later on, her erratic behavior.

Hayden's Personal Life Made Headlines

Hayden Panettiere began publicly dating almost as soon as she turned 18 years old. Panettiere went public with her then 30-year-old Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia. Despite their age difference, they dated for two years before their breakup. And then had to continue working together.

The petite actress moved on and dated a bunch of other actors including Jesse McCartney and Kevin Connolly. She settled down long-term with Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko with whom she has a daughter (who was born in 2015).

They were engaged for a bit and even broke up for a time, but got back together and had their baby. Panettiere then made headlines in 2016 for announcing that she was entering treatment to seek help for postpartum depression, but there was also more to that story we wouldn't learn until much later.

Hayden began dating Brian Hickerson soon after she left Klitschko. The couple began dating in August 2018 and by October 2018, there were already signs of trouble. Hickerson had been arrested after an altercation with his dad when Hayden was present.

Around this time, Panettiere's daughter moves to Ukraine with her dad while Panettiere stayed in California. Panettiere hasn't made a new TV or film appearance since 2016 and hasn't taken on a new project since giving birth. She continued appearing on Nashville at this time but since the show ended in 2018, her filmography has remained stagnant.

Hayden Struggled With Addiction

In an exclusive People Magazine interview, Panettiere admitted to having an out-of-control addiction to alcohol and drugs that destroyed her relationship and home life with Klitschko. She shares that it was her choice to send her daughter to Ukraine because she couldn't care for her properly because of her substance abuse.

Her addiction was the reason why she wasn't getting anymore acting roles and why she stayed in an abusive relationship. Panettiere hit her own rock bottom and is quoted as saying, "I was on top of the world, and I ruined it." But now Panettiere finds herself in a much better and healthier place after getting sober and is planning on making a return to acting.
