Some of his awkward interviews were supposedly stunts. However, Joaquin Phoenix also had an interview with Jimmy Fallon on that might have left some wondering if the celebrity disliked The Tonight Show host. After Joaquin Phoenix's interview on The Tonight Show, some might be wondering whether or not it could be true that Phoenix dislikes Fallon.

There have been several interactions between celebrities and interviews that have gone great. Unfortunately, there have also been numerous interviews which have gone downhill for numerous reasons.

In some cases, the celebrity seemed to have a reason to be upset, for example if an interviewer is unfamiliar with them or their material, or if a bad joke is played on a celebrity just to get a reaction, like when Tom Cruise was squirted with water.

It's understandable why some celebrities might not want to be interviewed often, or interviewed about their personal life for several reasons. However, it seems there might be certain interviewers some celebrities just do not like.

When Joaquin Phoenix appeared on The Tonight Show to promote his latest movie at the time, Joker, some might have thought host Jimmy Fallon and his guest didn't get along because of how some of their back and forth "joking" seemed to sound.

At one point, Phoenix almost seemed to chide Fallon, who was trying to sum Joker up for his audience in more than one way.

During the interview, Fallon says, "To set it up, there are no superheroes in this film. It's just kind of the making of a villain. That's what I would..if I was a film critic."

Phoenix replies back, "that wasn't the best thing." Fallon begins to sum the movie up again, and at this point Phoenix interrupts him, saying, "Don't tell anyone. Just let 'em see it. Or not."

This could have been Phoenix wanting to be more secretive about his project than any dislike of Fallon. Although the banter between the two does seem a bit intense, it might not come out of any true place of dislike as much as two people joking in their own way.

What Happened Initially During 'The Tonight Show' Interview?

Some interviews with celebrities don't go very well for whoever might be interviewing them. It could have something to do with the celebrity, the interviewer, what the interviewer is asking or multiple other issues. Sometimes it seems two people just do not get along.

When Jimmy Fallon interviewed Joaquin Phoenix on The Tonight Show, seemed almost seemed a bit tense between the two. This might have left some wondering whether or not Phoenix liked the host.

Part of what made the I'm Still Here actor seem like he might dislike Jimmy Fallon was his demeanor during the interview. He almost seemed to be taunting Fallon, for example when they were playing a game during the beginning of the interview.

As Fallon was asking Phoenix which of three statements was true, Phoenix seemed bored throughout the game. During the video, when Fallon asked the audience, "Audience, is it one?" Hearing light laughs, Phoenix took over and responded, "Nobody remembers what it was!"

It could just be that the Walk the Line actor wanted to discuss other things and not play a game, and this was his way of making it fun.

It also could be that the two are getting along in their own way, despite the intensity of the interview. The two also suddenly switched things up when Phoenix began interviewing Fallon, which could just mean the two were having fun with their interview.

Did The Interview Seem To End On Bad Terms?

It's no surprise that multiple celebrities have walked out of interviews. Others have gotten angry at their interviewers for certain reasons, especially for the ridiculous questions that celebrities are sometimes asked during their interviews.

While Jimmy Fallon was interviewing Joaquin Phoenix, things seemed to be a little tense between the two during part of their interview.

According to ET Canada, At one point, host Fallon even got up, and looking sadly back at Phoenix, began to walk away. At this point, the Her actor took the host's chair.

Phoenix began, "Alright welcome back! We got a great guest tonight - Jimmy Fallon." Fallon "talked about Joker as if he were Phoenix, with the conversation going hilariously off the rails as Fallon shared his experiences working for T.P. (his nickname for Joker director Todd Phillips) and how he nailed a scene involving breakfast."

Although the Gladiator actor did seem to come across as a little intimidating throughout the interview, it appears it wasn't intentional. It seems the two have gotten along for a while, and are most likely still on good terms.
