When Dove Cameron shares her beauty secrets, fans listen.

In a recent episode of Marie Claire’s Masked and Answered, the Emmy award-winning actress and singer shared how she keeps her skin looking smooth, clear and glowing —- and it’s not as complicated as you’d think.

For Dove Cameron, self-care isn’t just skin deep. It involves healing from the inside too.

A Skincare Fanatic Since Childhood

“I have aggressively dry skin, which is what got me involved in skincare really young,” Cameron explained. “I got interested in skincare when I was like 10 years old.”

Her skincare superstars include two reliable serums, two SPFs, a heavy moisturizer, vitamin E oil, eye cream, and sheet masks.

Her all-time favorite serum is Dr. Barbara Sturm's Hyaluronic Acid Serum — but unfortunately it does come with a price tag of $300.

She Sleeps In Sheet Masks

“My number one beauty hack is to sleep in a sheet mask,” said Cameron. She especially makes sure to do this when she has super dry skin.

Overall, her wellness and beauty basics include: “Oil, water, sleep, and stay out of the sun.”

She also religiously takes her vitamins, such as Vitamin E and fish oil.

“I'm a big believer that if you take vitamins internally it's going to show up externally,” shared Cameron.

Self-Care For Dove Cameron Is More Than Skin Deep

Last month, Just Jared Jr. reported that the actress and musician took to Instagram to open up about her self-care regimen. It's safe to say it goes beyond sheet masks.

“Healing is not always pretty,” she said. “Self care is not always face masks and fancy oils (though there’s nothing wrong with that). For me: self care right now is trauma work, writing, face time therapy, daily talks with myself about the acceptance of my life and my current state, attempting to stay physically healthy and not let my depression and anxiety win, and practicing patience.”
