Dr. Dre is hands down one of the most talented and successful artists in music history! Not only has he been able to create an empire of his own, Beats by Dr. Dre, which Apple purchased from the hip-hop artist fo $3 billion, but he's managed to become one of the wealthiest men in music, with a net worth of a whopping $820 million. Despite having a lot of success in his career, Dr. Dre is not having that much luck when it comes to his personal life.

It was revealed earlier this month that Dr. Dre and wife of nearly 25 years, Nicole Young, are divorcing! This came as quite a shock to fans and friends of Dre, considering his marriage to Young has appeared to be picture perfect since they tied the knot back in 1996. Despite their marriage appearing to be great, things took a turn this year, and Nicole Young filed for divorce.

While we aren't sure what the details surrounding the settlement will be, we anticipate a lengthy divorce considering how much property and real estate Dr. Dre owns! With over $80 million in real estate in Los Angeles, alone, Dr. Dre is putting a number of his homes up on the market and will soon have to figure out his life post marriage. So, where does this leave him now? Let's get right into it!

One Of The Richest Men In Music

When it comes to the world of music, there are only a select few artists that have managed to reach billionaire status or at least close! As for Dr. Dre, the hip-hop legend has been able to amass a whopping net worth of $820 million.  While his lengthy career in music has allowed him to earn so much money, it was his deal with Beats by Dr. Dre that truly allowed him to become so wealthy.

Dr. Dre sold Beats by Dr. Dre to Apple back on August 1, 2014, for a stunning $3 billion! Considering he co-owns the company alongside Jimmy Iovine, the two both walked away with $750 million. With nearly $200 million to his name already, it was no surprise that the acquisition of Beats by Dr. Dre led the rapper to amass such a large amount, which has put him in the running for richest musician alongside Jay-Z, Diddy, Paul McCartney and Mariah Carey.

Trouble In Paradise

In addition to Dr. Dre's extremely successful career, he has also had immense success when it comes to his personal life and marriage. The rapper married wife, Nicole Young, back in 1996, and share two children with one another. Both Dre and Nicole appeared to be living their best lives, however, things took a turn this year when Young officially filed for divorce from Dre after nearly 25 years of marriage. The news came as a shock to many of us, however, that's not even the most shocking part.

Dr. Dre and Nicole reportedly did not have a prenup! According to Celeb Net Worth, Dr. Dre and Nicole did not sign a prenuptial agreement, which means that Young may be entitled to a massive cut of what Dr. Dre has pulled in during the time of their marriage, which includes Apple's acquisition of Beats by Dr. Dre. While both their kids are well above 18, child support and alimony won't be an issue, however, considering Nicole is a lawyer herself and is being represented by the same firm who worked for Amber Heard during her divorce from the actor, Johnny Depp, Dr. Dre may have to pay up nearly half of his worth.

While we doubt Nicole will walk away with half of Dr. Dre's $820 million net worth, she may be entitled to a big enough chunk that it would certainly become one of the biggest divorce settlements to date. The rapper has already begun to sell his property across California, which totals around $80 million alone! Dre recently listed his Woodland Hills home for $5.25 million, making us all wonder where he's living now?

Where Is Dr. Dre Living Now?

While Dr. Dre may have listed his Woodland Hills home for a nice $5.25, that isn't his only house! He first purchased the home back in 1999 for $2.35 alongside his wife at the time, however, now that this house is on the market, Dr. Dre is most likely staying at his other three homes in California.

The rapper also owns a Brentwood compound that he had bought off of NFL superstar, Tom Brady for $40 million! Additionally, Dr. Dre also purchased a home in Calabasas with a complete recording studio back in 2019 for $4.9 million, and another home for $2.25 million in the gated community of Pacific Palisades.

While his marriage may be over and listing one of his four properties in Los Angeles may be a drag, the rapper still has three other homes to choose from! Dr. Dre recently worked alongside Keedron Bryant, the 12-year-old boy who wrote a song in memory of George Floyd. The two were at Dr. Dre's home in Calabasas, so it seems to be safe to assume that he is currently living there for the time being.
