Drew Barrymore made a special appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live on Wednesday and got candid about her acting career: The host of the hit talk show The Drew Barrymore Show has decided to take a break from acting.

During the interview, Cohen asked the 46-year-old daytime host whether or not she has plans to act in more movies.

“If I’m being honest, the answer is no, I don’t want to be on a film set right now," Barrymore said.

“I stopped doing these when my kids were born… and it was a no-brainer to me to put making movies on a back burner so that I could be present and raise my kids myself,” she explained. “I didn’t want to be on a film set asking the nanny how the kids were. I was like, that is not my journey.”

"When you step away from it, it's a lot less scary," Barrymore said of her move away from acting. "And you know, I've started brands...I was able to write a book."

Barrymore didn’t leave her acting career completely once her children were born. She starred in three seasons of the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet first.

The television host revealed that she took part in that project because she was "so knee-deep into mothering" that she needed to be reminded of being “an individual with a skill set."

"It was just perfect and it was a comedy and it was delicious and it was fun and it was irreverent and I couldn't have loved it more. And it really saved me," she explained.

The entertainer went on to express how much she enjoys being a talk show host.

“That’s like the only thing I want in the world is this job. Second to my children and my best friends being healthy and happy. I think this is my greatest wish. I’ve invested so much into this the last two years,” she said.

Barrymore also said her feelings on her acting career "could change when my kids are older." So while she's taking a break for now, it's quite possible she'll be back.

Barrymore was also asked by Cohen if her talk show will return for a second season, to which she jokingly responded, “I am so happy to report on your show, Andy, that I don’t know anything. An exclusive: I’m in purgatory and they won’t give us a definitive answer.”

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays at 9 AM on CBS.
