In their early life, the Duffer brothers attended Duke School for Children, then joined and attended Charles E. Jordan High School. After High School, the Duffer brothers wanted to jump right into filming.

So, they relocated to California to follow their dream and began studying film at Chapman's University's: Dodge College of Film and Arts, where they graduated in 2007. Since then, the brothers could tackle other bits, like directing and producing shows, instead of always hiring others for those tasks.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Matt and Ross Duffer had a hunger to make successful movies and series that would leave fans yearning for more. From the time they joined college, the duo had already learned how to write scripts. All that remained left to master was directing.

After learning directing skills at Chapman University, the brothers collaborated on the production of a series of short films. We All Fall Down, which won the Best Short Film in Dallas, and Eater, among others, were ideas born and executed while the filmmakers were still in college.

On Netflix's quest to pick the best content for their giant company, Stranger Things was undeniably among the chosen. With over 50 nominations and 15 awards won, it's no surprise that the series has gathered a huge fan base online.

Netflix signed a deal with the brothers that ensured they remained in the company. Although Netflix announced there was a deal between them and the Duffer brothers, neither party have yet to disclose the terms agreed upon.

2 Ross Duffer Married A Film Director, Leigh Janiak'

Ross Duffer wedded Leigh Anne Janiak on December 22, 2015. A close friend of the couple, Jennifer Knode, officiated the wedding. Janiak and Ross first met at a production company in Los Angeles where she was an intern working as an assistant producer. Apart from production, Janiak is also a screenwriter known for her notable work on two films, The Fear Street Trilogy and Honeymoon.
