Dwayne Johnson Spills On The Film's Massive Budget

Red Notice follows an Interpol agent who is attempting to bring down the world's most wanted art thief. The action-drama is being pegged as one of Netflix's most adventurous films to date, with Johnson claiming the streamer made their biggest investment in the film's production.

But in July 2020, Netflix announced that The Gray Man starring Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, with a budget exceeding $200 million was their biggest film ever.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the RED NOTICE trailer," wrote Johnson, alongside the clip.

The former WWE star added: "Not only is this the biggest investment NETFLIX has ever made in a film, but it also boasts two of the biggest and most talented (and attractive;) movie stars on the planet in @gal_gadot & @vancityreynolds."

"Here’s what I know ~ Red Notice was my first ever movie on @netflix and I wanted to make it historic, massive and entertaining for the world," the actor gushed in the caption. Johnson then announced the release date for the film, November 12th.

The actor also teased a potential Christmas-themed film in his caption, explaining that "big surprises" would soon be made known to fans.

Online reports have revealed that $100 million of Red Notice’s total budget was just the actor's salaries, which doesn't leave much for filming if rumors are to be believed. Most of the film was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, but the movie was wrapped in November, after a week of filming Rome and Sardinia, Italy.

Johnson will also be seen in the DC superhero film titled Black Adam, which also stars Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Pierce Brosnan's as Doctor Fate, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman among other actors.
