Dwayne Johnson carries his tough yet super likable persona exceptionally well, but trust and believe that this actor does get emotional every now and then.
The 49-year-old, who is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, recently sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair, telling the publication the one thing that triggers his soft side to come out.
When he thinks about his three daughters, the wrestler-turned actor isn't afraid to choke up in tears.
“I could think about my babies and get emotional,” the father of three gushed. “I can think about my babies, and hear old, traditional songs from the islands, Samoan songs, Hawaiian songs. They’ll get me emotional. So yeah, there are [a] handful of things that will get me emotional.”
The Jumanji star got up, close and personal further in the interview, discussing everything from the relationship he shares with his family to the ups and downs he’s faced in his successful acting career.
Johnson has worked himself up to become one of the best-paid actors in Hollywood, commanding more than $20 million per project.
And despite his worldwide fame and A-list status, Johnson still finds it in himself to treat people with dignity and respect.
“It’s the philosophy of going into work every day. Looking at everybody as equal partners. And looking at the studio as equal partners,” he said.
“And looking at the crew, regardless of where you’re at, either on the call sheet or otherwise, as equal partners—with respect and with humility, and being respectful of the process and every other human being who is putting in just as much time, just as much hard work and sweat equity, if not more.
“And I think it’s always been important to me to always be straight up and look somebody in the eye. And if you say you’re going to do something, do it.”
