Murphy is a busy father who has been engaged to model Paige Butcher for about two years. Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher live a very private life, but there is still plenty to learn about the power couple.

10 Butcher's Modeling Success

Paige Butcher became a working model when she was just 13. She graduated from Santa Maria College and then won the Covergirl Cosmetics Supermodel Search in 1994. Butcher then signed with IMG modeling and went to New York City, gaining even more exposure during her time there.

Her modeling success led her to a role in Big Momma's House 2, where she met Eddie Murphy in 2006.

9 Murphy's Acting Comeback

In case you missed a few awards shows, 2019 was a major comeback year for actor Eddie Murphy. In addition to hosting SNL for the first time in over three decades, Murphy got a Golden Globe nomination and won a Lifetime Achievement Award following his work as Rudy Ray Moore in Dolemite is My Name.

In his acceptance speech, the actor reflected on nearly four decades in the business. He said, "Being able to make a living as an actor is a privilege and a blessing. And to make a living making people laugh, there's no higher — you're the luckiest person on Earth to be able to do that."

8 Different Career Trajectories

Paige Butcher's acting career didn't continue after Something's Gotta Give and Big Momma's House 2. Eddie Murphy, however, has never stopped creating content that entertains. In December 2019, Murphy told Jimmy Fallon that he does not write down his ideas for stand-up comedy.

A few months before that, The New York Times revealed that Murphy "never stopped generating material and has even been feeding ideas for jokes into a tape recorder for three years."

7 8-Year Relationship

Murphy and Butcher have been together since 2012, seven years after Eddie Murphy and Nicole Murphy divorced.

Although Paige Butcher met Eddie Murphy years earlier, the stars were each in other relationships until making theirs public at a 2012 tribute to Eddie Murphy called One Night Only.

6 Two Children Together

Eddie Murphy has ten children: five with Nicole, three with other girlfriends, and two with Paige. Paige and Eddie's kids are Izzy Oona Murphy and Max Charles Murphy. The latter is named after Murphy's brother Charles, who died of leukemia.

A rare 2018 Christmas photo shows Max and Izzy with all of their half-siblings (posted by Bria Murphy). In 2016, Murphy told People, "I really got lucky with my kids. There really isn’t a bad one in the bunch, everyone turned out to be really good people." He added that all of his children are unique from one another, and he enjoyed supporting Bria at her art show.

5 Private Life

Eddie and Paige are not the types of celebrities to share many details on their relationship. Neither of them currently use social media, and they seem to want to keep it that way. Back in 2013, Paige was very discrete in telling Vanity Fair that she was "in a relationship with a celebrity" and "felt like there's already enough of [her] out there."

She felt that she gave out too much of her personal information on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and then got rid of them altogether.

4 Fun With Famous Friends

Even though Murphy and Butcher keep much of their life private, they normally are seen together on various outings.

In February 2020, the couple got to hang out with famous friends courtside at the Staples Center for the Lakers' game. Jeffrey Katzenberg, Denzel Washington, and Mark Wahlberg were just a few other names in attendance.

3 Proud Grandparents

Eddie Murphy's son, Myles, welcomed a baby girl in July 2019 and named her Evie Isla Murphy.

This officially makes Murphy a grandfather, and sort of makes Paige a step-grandmother. She appears to love everyone in the family as if they are her own.

2 Supportive Family

Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher seem to get along well with the rest of the family. In what could be quite awkward situations with ex-wives and girlfriends, it sounds like everything is pretty amicable.

1 Charitable Couple

Whether they're dressed to the nines or out on the go, Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher share the same values. They love their family and work together, and they also give of their time and money to charitable organizations.
