It's safe to say that John Travolta and Kelly Preston's daughter, Ella Bleu, has officially become an actress.

She technically started her career when she was a little girl, but now she's starring in her second film ever, this time without her famous father as her co-star, and we can't wait to see it.

Like most celebrity children, Ella is embracing the family business and following in her parent's footsteps, rather than avoiding the inevitable. More often than not, celebrity children dabble in the family business to try it out, but it all depends on whether they're cut out for it. Sometimes they're not, and only have a couple of credits to their name. Other times they're even more successful than their parents.

It's too early to tell which category Ella will fall into, but she's certainly showing signs that she loves what she's doing. At least Ella is getting something from her parents. While she loves acting we don't think she'll be following in her father's footsteps as a pilot any time soon. She'll stick to filming cool videos of sunsets while he flies the planes.

Her First Credit Is 'Old Dogs'

Nothing makes actors and actresses happier than seeing their children act alongside them. Dustin Hoffman's kids all had cameos in Hook, and we all remember when Jaden Smith starred in The Pursuit of Happyness with his dad Will Smith.

Ella is no different. As a child of a celebrity, it's kinda a right of passage to co-star with their parent, but she got to have a bigger part than some. She starred in 2009's Old Dogs, with both of her parents when she was just nine.

This was a huge step in Ella's career, but apparently, this wasn't her first time acting.

She told People, "Since I was very little, I’ve loved performing, singing, dancing, and putting on shows at home for my family and friends."

"In our house in Maine we have this stage area set up with a little red curtain and my friends and I would perform there…We did (everything), from the Hulk to Christmas shows and one year we all played different 'Housewives of Maine.'

Her next credit came in 2019 with the film The Poison Rose, a noir thriller, which also starred her father and Morgan Freeman. This time she played a young widow, and her father helped her prepare. "It helped so much having my dad there," she said. "It was so comforting and he’s the best mentor ever."

Her parents always gave her advice though.

"When I have any questions, my mom and dad have the best advice, and that’s amazing… I love that it’s sort of the family business!" Ella said. "Whatever I would have chosen to do they would have supported me, but they’re really proud of me for (acting)…and that makes me proud, too!"

Preston, who died this past July, took to Instagram to gush over her daughter's work in the film at the time.

"Still in absolute awe of my stunning daughter @ella.travolta I just re-watched all of her interviews this past week doing press for #thepoisonrose and she has jumped into the family business as an absolute natural," Preston wrote.

"I am beyond proud of her and all of her accomplishments, but most of all I am proud and honored to have her as my daughter. I love you and congratulations."

Promoting the film, Travolta told The Talk, "I am ridiculous. I'm behind the camera mouthing every word she says, doing her moves. My wife, Kelly [Preston], gets hysterical watching me watch her, because I just want it to go great."

It did go great, greater than he could imagine.

She's Been Cast In 'Get Lost'

Ella's just been cast in the upcoming film Get Lost, a modern-day Alice in Wonderland. She will be playing the lead, Alicia/Alice.

"I am very pleased to announce this opportunity that has come to me," Ella wrote on her Instagram. "I am looking forward to working with Daniela Amavia and Michael Mendelsohn on this exciting new project!"

The film sounds really interesting and we can't wait to see her in her first leading role. We know Travolta will be really proud of her as she becomes an emerging star, and of course, her mother would be very proud as well. Preston is her guardian angel, guiding her to her dreams.
