We all know by now about the entire controversy linking Ellen DeGeneres to some bad behavior behind the scenes. However, some fans might be able to tell us that this kind of behavior was taking place in front of our own eyes, even with Ellen's own fans on her show. We've seen countless awkward moments, including Ellen basically calling audience members dumb, laughing at a fan for not having money and who can forget, ridiculing a painting an audience member had made.
As if all that isn't enough, Ellen has a lot of rules when it comes to those that attend her show. Some of the rules are of the norm, like having to engage in the show and keeping up with the cues such as clapping and other involvement. However, not all the rules are as straightforward. Ellen loves to have control of her own show, so much so that she even wants to choose what the audience members will wear... Along with that, gum is not allowed and those that sit in the front row must have a decent knowledge base when it comes to the most popular songs out there. Of all the bizarre rules, the dress code one has to be the biggest head-scratcher of them all.
Matching Outfits Is A No
Ah yes, we imagine it now, fans pumped to go see an Ellen show, maybe for a bachelorette party. Of course, you decided to wear matching attires but if you do, Ellen will not allow you to be part of the audience... That's right, according to some of Ellen's rules to be in the audience, you cannot by any means coordinate an outfit with someone else. The outfit must be different and in addition, Ellen encourages bright and happy colors. Just make sure those colors down match the ones of the person next to you, or chances are, you're not going to make it onto the show.
Along with the treatment towards her fans, there were many other signs pertaining to Ellen's awkward ways, especially when it came to her guests. Fans also look back on Dakota Johnson and her awkward interview alongside Ellen. Not only was the interview a mess but Dakota would also call out Ellen, claiming that she was in fact invited to her birthday party, though Ellen never cared to respond. Once Ellen put two and two together, fans could see the embarrassment in her face start to kick in. Those against Ellen typically look at this interview as the beginning of the end for the talk show host. Despite all the controversy taking place, Ellen is moving along with her show and trying to improve on her past failures. With all the changes being made, the show is still on the decline in terms of ratings.
