But even Elon Musk has to make space for some downtime during his busy schedule. Despite claiming to regularly work 80-100 hours per week (even sleeping on the floor of his office to maximize work time), Musk still finds time for relaxing and indulging in some of his many hobbies. 7 Elon Musk Likes Fine Food... And Barbeque

All this time running around managing enormous businesses doesn't leave Musk a lot of time to eat throughout the day. He often skips breakfast (if he has time, it's an omelet), but when he does have time to eat, Elon makes sure it's a good meal. The Tesla founder reportedly enjoys French cuisine at fine restaurants, and barbeque food. He also likes sampling drink, enjoying whiskey or wine on occasion.

Musk also has a penchant for Diet Coke, claiming that the beverage contains "some infernal ingredient".

He returns from work at around 10 pm each night — long after the younger kids are in bed — then spends the next few hours reading, watching anime (Evangelion and Death Note).

Musk claims he regularly works 80 to 100 hour workweeks, with most of his skillset being focused on design and engineering work.

6 Elon Musk Loves Reading

Elon is also something of a bookworm. As a child growing up in South Africa, he caught the reading bug and has never lost it - at one point when he was nine years old, he had read everything in the local library. Musk isn't super picky about genre, but he does tend to steer more towards sci-fi novels, and non-fiction books, especially about engineering.

5 He's Also A Gamer

Musk is also a huge gamer. He got into gaming at a young age; as something of a tech prodigy, he sold a self-designed video game called Blastar for US$500 when he was just 12 years old, and also had a job for gaming start-up company called Rocket Science. Elon even credits his passion for gaming for inspiring his present fascination with technology and innovation Attributing his interest in computers and tech to playing video games as a kid. He's played just about everything, but his favorites are Deus Ex, Fallout and BioShock.

4 And Is A Bit Of A Netflix Addict

According to EVANNEX, Elon also finds time to enjoy a spot of Netflix and TV. It's not clear what sort of shows he indulges in, but the businessman has mentioned watching Silicon Valley, which centers on a fictional tech company, and Black Mirror, which explores humanity’s relationship to technology.

3 Elon Musk Likes Movies And Anime

According to Forbes, Musk also enjoys a little anime, particularly the Makoto Shinkai movie Your Name. Studio Ghibli is another hit with the Twitter-founder, including the movies Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Musk enjoys watching them with fellow anime enthusiast girlfriend Grimes, telling The New York Times, that they once spent a whole weekend together watching movies including Death Note and Evangelion.

Elon also said he enjoys historical documentaries. Right now, we’re going back to Genghis Khan for like the third time, and the Mongols, I guess,” Grimes told the interviewer, saying Elon was "obsessed" with them.

2 Elon Musk Likes Spending Time On Social Media - But Not Too Much

As the new owner of Twitter, you would expect Musk to have an interest in the platform - and he does!

In an interview, Musk admitted to using the social media site sometimes, but not too much: "I think it’s good anyway to take a few breaks from Twitter and not be on there 24 hours a day. Twitter can mess with your mind.”

He adds, "If you’re going down a negative rabbit hole on Twitter, it can make you miserable, that’s for sure."

“I spend a lot less time on Twitter than people probably think. It’s like maybe 10-15 minutes or something,” Musk told Vox. “It feels like dipping into the flow of consciousness of society. That’s what it feels like. It’s kinda weird,” Musk added. “Some people use their hair to express themselves; I use Twitter.”

1 And Throwing Extravagant Parties

Though Musk is famously introverted, he also had a more outgoing side and likes to host lavish parties often. According to Ashlee Vance‘s book, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, Musk’s birthdays and office parties are often lavish affairs with a theme. He once rented castle in England where the guests played hide-and-seek and a costume party in Venice where he dressed as a knight. He has recently thrown an 'AI party/hackathon' at his house.
