Elton John vowed to "hit someone" if Phoebe Bridgers didn't get her Grammy last night. Unfortunately, he'll need to grab his boxing gloves and get ready to throw a few swings.

The musical genius behind the studio album Punisher was snubbed out of all four of her nominations. Who's ready to act like a frat boy and punch a brick wall?

Elton John's A Fan

According to NME, John likened Bridgers' album to an "old friend" and backed her completely in her anticipation for Sunday night. That hopefulness lost its luster after each winner was read aloud in Bridgers' categories.

That's when her strong fanbase, one that includes Dan Levy and Kiernan Shipka, united in angry upheaval. It's the way a best friend or parent would uproar that outdoes the nominated artist's own reaction.

Bridgers posted an Instagram in her full-circle moment Thom Browne ensemble as she holds her own fingertips. Her caption read, "Me holding my grammys."

A jab to the heart, then twisting it a bit for full effect. Her comments were enveloped in support and references to John's vow.

"Someone check up on how elton’s doing," one fan wrote. That same thought was repeated in hundreds of different ways, each gaining mountains of 'likes.'

'Can I Hit Myself?'

Bridgers posted the Rolling Stone reference to hitting and likely a dose of kicks and screams. Blue checkmarks lined up in agreement. We will hit and punch the air in spite, god d$#%!

Australian singer and songwriter Tal Wilkenfeld wrote, "I’m in. Does hitting myself count?" We don't make the rules when it comes to standing up for Phoebe's snub, but we'd rather suggest a pillow for both crying into and slapping around.

The Rocket Man has yet to comment on the recurring inside joke, as he's busy calling out the Vatican on its hypocrisy. But, that's a discussion for another day.

For now, we'll sit in a dramatic set of black silk pajamas while sipping comforting tea and staring outside our windows. We'd like to think that Bridgers went to Denny's with her mom afterward like they would after one of her high school gigs.

Regardless, she won in our hearts! She gave millions of people an outlet for raw, unedited emotions during the quarantine.
