In the 2000s, fans were extremely excited for Eragon to get a film adaptation. Unfortunately, once it was released, it was panned for its unfaithful take on the fantasy book series. There was so much wasted potential and it hurt both fans and author Christopher Paolini.

The books are still beloved to this day, and fans are dying to have a true movie or television adaptation. If Percy Jackson can get a reboot on Disney+, then we can't see why Eragon can't. Fans have egged on the idea of Eragon being picked up by Disney+ and Paolini is also on board.

Paolini has been getting fans to rally to Disney to hear their pleas for a remake in any capacity, getting Eragon to trend on Twitter. The majority of responses are leaning towards a series instead of films, as it will be able to dig into the source material better.

Paolini is very invested in seeing his fans still making great fan art or edits revolving around his beloved book series. One fan even got his attention when they photoshopped a preview of what it would look like if Eragon is on Disney+. The response on Twitter is so huge that thanks to Paolini and the fans' efforts, they got Eragon trending with tons of memes that are in support for a remake.

The fandom is so dedicated that it is honestly a shock that after 15 years, there wasn't an opportunity to revive Eragon on the big screen, but with social media and immense support, that might come true.

Even though the desire to have Disney+ pick up the series is high, there are some fans who are concerned. An Instagram fan wrote, "I still don't know about Disney doing the adaptation, but I trust you. So if you want it done, then I'll help out as best I can." Another fan on Instagram also replied in this campaign, "I could weep, just thinking about this happening. I just finished reading the series again, for the third time. And the whole time I was wishing that they’d give this movie a second chance."

There is even a livestream going on from the YouTube channel MCAlagaesia, where Paolini is in right now in helping encourage fans to get on the Eragon remake bandwagon. Disney might own the rights to the film due to merging with 20th Century Fox, but it there has to be enough support and demand. That shouldn't be an issue as thousands of fans are begging Disney to make this happen.
