Proud dad alert! While Dan Levy was killing it onscreen as the host of this weekend's 'Saturday Night Live,' Eugene was behind the scenes giving his son all the love.

This comes as no surprise to 'Schitt's Creek' fans who know these two have a super close bond. Still, we love to see it! Here's what went on at the 'SNL' studios between Dan and Eugene last night.

They Shared an On-Air Moment

To kick off the evening, Dan's monologue actually included a tiny Eugene cameo! It involved Eugene in a quarantining box telling his son that he flew in from Los Angeles to wish him luck. The audience loved it so much that they clapped over the first few lines of the Levys' conversation.

Eugene Watched from Backstage

The cutest and most supportive 'SNL' moment came when comedy legend Eugene watched his son from a hidden place behind the scenes of the show's set.

Thanks to sneaky video footage posted by the @NBCSNL Twitter account, fans noticed Eugene clapping and rocking side to side as Dan was introduced to the crowd. They took his movements to mean he was both proud and nervous for Dan as he took center stage. Aw!

This isn't the first time Eugene has been off-camera supporting his kids. Fans of 'Schitt's Creek' know he used to watch Dan and his daughter Sarah perform their scenes via a monitor just off-camera.

Dan confirmed this himself on a podcast with David Tenant.

"Other cast members would describe him watching the monitors while myself or my sister were acting and kind of mouth the lines along with us," Dan said,  "like some kind of stage parent or dance mom or something."

The only scenes Eugene wouldn't watch were Dan's kissing ones, but only because Dan insisted.

"He just likes to be a part of it. In the intimate moments with my boyfriend in the show, I did ask the PA, 'My dad doesn’t need to watch me kiss my boyfriend a hundred times today. He can go off and do something else,'" he explained. Good thing Dan's 'SNL' appearance was pretty family friendly. (If you can't stream it, catch up on some clips here!) Dan Was Feeling the Love

Dan himself commented a single red heart emoji on NBC's footage of his dad backstage. He also gave a heart to his mother's message about how Dan's former bullies would eat their words if they could see him now.

Dan's night ended onstage with his dad by his side, a moment he shared his gratitude for in the hours since:

And we thought the Roses were the sweetest family!
