5 He Has Stared In A Christmas Movie
Dan Levy brought his acting skills back to the big screen, staring in a Christmas movie. In November 2020, he stared in "Happiest Season" alongside Kristen Stewart. The movie
premiered on the streaming service Hulu where he plays,
"John, a tech-savvy literary agent and best friend to one of the film's main characters, Abby (Kristen Stewart)."
The movie is about Kristen Stewart's character "Abby," "who is planning on proposing to her girlfriend, but has to deal with her conservative parents' response."
4 He Has Done Philanthropic Work
Busy Dan Levy has definitely made quite the career for himself since Schitt's Creek, however, he hasn't allowed his many successes and busy schedule get in the way of giving back. This past holiday season, Levy donated to initiatives like the "Reasons for the Seasons campaign." It essentially is a collaboration with McDonald's and Uber Eats and Dan Levy donated $50,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, "a non-profit organization he holds close to his heart."
3 He Was Named People's Sexiest Man Alive
Dan Levy was given the title as People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2020. The issue highlights the common quarantine activities that many people were up during this time and shows Levy posing in a number of pictures doing these activities. He told People,
“This form of sexy is a niche market.”
In the pictures, "he puts a sexy spin on some of the most popular quarantine activities — including taking out the recycling." He additionally told People what he was up to during quarantine, which was spent perfecting his cooking abilities. He made a variety of food such as, “I was trying different pasta sauces, I was making breads, I was baking cookies." He hilariously soon realized he was much better at making cocktails then making meals.
2 He Was In An Super Bowl Commercial
Levy starred in a Super Bowl commercial for M&Ms candy this past February. His
commercial was definitely a dream come true for Levy and was a project he was more than excited to be starring in. He told People,
"I've always really admired the M&M's commercials. They've always been self-aware and funny and bright." The commercial was 30-seconds long and premiered virtually. While Levy has experienced more accomplishments than anyone can count in the past few years, this commercial gig was definitely a big opportunity for the actor.
1 He Hosted SNL
Early this year, Dany Levy was given the amazing opportunity to host SNL for the first time ever. This was definitely a "pinch me" moment for Levy as this was a very big opportunity for him after the end of his hit series Schitt's Creek. His opening monologue from his time on the comedy show was,
"...filled with references to Schitt's Creek, COVID-19 safety precautions — and a surprise cameo from his father."
Hosting SNL was a huge achievement and one Levy will always appreciate and be glad he did. He has said his appreciation and love for getting this job,
"I have somehow found myself here on this iconic stage standing in front of all of you. And trust me when I say this, it has only been good here at SNL."
