Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum met on the set of the movie Step Up. They soon pursued a relationship, got married and had a daughter, Everly, together. Everyone in Hollywood loved them together, so when they announced their divorce fans were not only shocked but also upset.

After eight years of marriage, the former couples revealed their split in April 2018. Dewan filed for divorce in October of that year, and it took about a year for it to be finalized. There was not necessarily a reason given for the split, except that it was over irreconcilable differences.

The actors and dancers since moved on after breaking up, getting into relationships and pursuing their careers. Tatum has had an on-again off-again relationship with Jessie J and Dewan is engaged to actor Steve Kazee. Dewan and Kazee have one son, Callum, together. 

Despite their split, they seem to be happy and still support each other for the sake of their six-year-old.

In April 2018, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum shocked the world when they announced their separation. In the statement, they said they remain best friends who wanted to take some space and help each other live the most joyous and fulfilled lives as possible. They had finalized their divorce in 2019 and moved on with other partners, while still co-parenting their daughter. Fans were heartbroken because they thought their marriage was perfect. The former couple has not spoken ill of the other, but just needed to separate to be happy.

13 Starred In 'The Wedding Year'

Dewan didn't let her divorce stop her from her career. Known for being a dancer, Dewan stepped into acting too. Dewan filmed The Wedding Year in 2018. The movie also starred  Sarah Hyland, who Dewan has become good friends with, Tyler James Williams, Matt Shively and Anna Camp. The film came out in September 2019 in select theaters.

12 Host/Mentor On 'World Of Dance'

A few days before Dewan and Tatum decided that they were splitting, she got asked to be the host for the upcoming NBC show, World Of Dance, produced by JLo. Sadly, she left as host after two seasons. The reason was unknown, but Dewan did come back as a mentor a few times. She was replaced with Access Live host Scott Evans. Unfortunately, World of Dance was cancelled after four seasons.

11 Stared In 'The Resident'

Jenna Dewan is no stranger to playing on TV. She played Julian Booth on the FOX medical drama show, The Resident from 2018 to 2019. Booth was a former dancer who turned into a medical device rep at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Her character just disappeared from the show and fans had no idea why. Apparently, the doctors found out she was alive and everyone was shocked. The Resident will air on Tuesdays this fall for season 4. No word on if Dewan will be returning or not.

10 Partnered With Danskin

In November 2018, Dewan released a collection with the dancewear-turned-athleisure line, Danskin. She was excited to partner with them because her very first leotard was from that company. But the line isn't only for the dance studio. "My biggest motivation was to create a collection for the busy woman—someone who wants to wear this throughout their day and into the night," she told Marie ClaireJenna Dewan X Danskin features 30 items all created by Dewan.

9 Said Goodbye To Her Dog

Even celebrities lose their pets. Jenna Dewan posted that her dog Lulu had passed away in December 2018. Lulu was the dog that her and Channing Tatum had shared when they were together. Sadly, Dewan revealed the pup had cancer and had put up a long fight. Tatum even shared his tribute to the dog saying that she will 'always be with him.'

8 Wrote A Book

Eventually if you're in show business, you are bound to write a book/biography, especially if you went through major milestones that should be shared. Jenna Dewan released "Gracefully You: How To Live Your Best Life Everyday" in 2019. She shared mantra and self-care rituals that help her bring a little more joy. The Step Up actress also addressed her split from Tatum.

7 Stared In 'Berlin, I Love You'

It seems like Dewan kept busy to keep her mind off of the separation. She stared in the anthology romantic drama film, Berlin, I Love You in 2019. It is an installment of the Cities of Love, a series by Emmanuel Benbihy, made up of ten stories of romance set in the German capital. Dewan played Mandy and starred alongside Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley, Mickey Rourke and more. The film received negative reviews from critics.

6 Started Dating Actor Steve Kazee

After her split from the Magic Mike star, Jenna Dewan quickly got into a relationship with actor Steve Kazee. They first met back in 2012, when she saw Kazee in the Broadway play Once, which she saw with her mother. They waited by the stage door, and the two had an eye-catching moment. Years later, after she split with Channing Tatum, Kazee reached out to her because he remembered her from years ago.

5 Hosted 'Flirty Dancing'

Flirty Dancing is an "innovative series that is part performance, part blind date, and all about romantic chemistry. In the show, complete strangers are each taught half of a dance routine, then meet for the first time on a blind date at a breathtaking location, where they will then dance together without saying a word," according to FOX.com. Hosted and produced by Dewan, the show only lasted one season.

4 Had Second Child/Got Engaged

The couple got engaged in February 2020, at Dewan's baby shower. She received a gold-banded Bayou With Love ring, who's founder Nikki Reed, helped Kazee create it. Their engagement came when Dewan was already five months pregnant with her second child, her first with Kazee. The dancer has posted adorable pictures of her son on Instagram, a complete 180 from her daughter, whose face is never shown.

Dewan is on an upcoming episode with Sofia Carson, and it seems like she might actually tell the story about their divorce, so be sure to tune in when it premieres.

2 Planning Destination Wedding With Kazee

The couple is now gearing up to say "I do." While acting as the cover star for this month's issue of The Knot Magazine, Dewan revealed some of her plans. She wants to have a spiritual wedding in which they write their owns vows and have someone close to them officiate. She has been eyeing up destinations outside of the U.S., but nothing is set as of yet. She wants a small, intimate ceremony and is looking to get a sustainable wedding dress and recyclable invites.

Of course, they'll involve the kids. "Oh, Evie would never forgive me if I did not let her be the flower girl," the bride-to-be told the publication. "She would never speak to me again—that's how much it means to her. I will for sure keep the tradition of incorporating Evie and Callum in the wedding."

1 Sold House She Lived In With Tatum

Closing another chapter! Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan said goodbye to their marital home in Beverly Hills. The house had been on sale since May and recently sold for $5.9 million. Their home was built in 1950 and has six bedrooms and bathrooms. At one point, it was owned by the late Carrie Fisher. Tatum currently lives in a modern farmhouse property in Mandeville Canyon, while Dewan moved into an Encino estate with her fiancee. It really is the end of an era.
