Every now and again, a star will come along who can excel at multiple facets of the entertainment industry. They are rare, which makes the fans appreciate them all the more. During the 2000s, Jesse McCartney broke out in music and on television and hasn’t looked back since.

Since becoming a star, McCartney has remained quite busy, and what he has been able to do in film, television, and music is nothing short of impressive. Needless to say, few people are capable of doing what he has done since breaking out.

Let’s take a closer look at Jesse McCartney and see what he’s been up to since “Beautiful Soul” became a hit.

He Voiced Theodore In ‘Alvin And The Chipmunks’

Jesse McCartney is a unique case of a celebrity that has thrived in both music and acting. In fact, people could recognize him or his voice from a few different things, which is quite the distinction to have. After breaking out in acting and music, McCartney wound up landing the role of Theodore in the Alvin and the Chipmunks film franchise that generated hundreds of millions of dollars and countless YouTube videos.

Back in 2007, McCartney first voiced Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks, which became a massive hit at the box office. The film’s ability to gross over $350 million let the studio know that they had a huge franchise on their hands, and they took no time at all in getting sequel projects underway. This was good news for McCartney, who was going to cash in every step of the way.

In 2009, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel hit theaters looking to capitalize on the success that its predecessor found. The film wound up making over $440 million at the box office, which was a sizable improvement from the first film. 2011’s Chipwrecked generated over $340 million, making for another success, and The Road Chip was able to crack the $230 million mark.

As great as this was for McCartney, he was also voicing Terrence in the Tinker Bell franchise of films, as well. The man was having loads of success in film, but this didn’t stop him from getting plenty of television work.

He’s Done A Lot Of Television Work

Earlier on before “Beautiful Soul” became a hit record for McCartney, he was making waves as a television actor. He was featured on shows like All My Children and Law & Order before things really began to take off. Naturally, once he became a music star, his television career was able to heat up, as well.

McCartney was being featured on Summerland when his record took off, and he would subsequently appear as himself on a number of shows while looking to capitalize on his newfound fame in music. Fortunately, he would shift back to traditional acting after appearing on Greek in 2009.

In the years since then, McCartney has landed some cool gigs on television. He voiced Nightwing in Young Justice for years, which cemented him as a mainstay with DC Comics. For 7 episodes, McCartney was featured on Young & Hungry, which was a series that starred Emily Osment. He would subsequently appear on The F Word, Fear the Walking Dead, and Major Crimes.

Acting has been a great avenue for McCartney, but it is hard to overlook what he has done in music since his first hit.

“Leavin’” Became A Platinum Record

After breaking out in music, McCartney had far more success on the charts than some even realize. The man wound up delivering a total of 8 songs that cracked the Hot 100, which is no easy feat for any artist. “Leavin’” was a particularly large hit for the singer, as it earned a Platinum certification and hit the top 10 on the Hot 100.

Not only has McCartney done well as a singer, but his songwriting prowess has been on display, as well. In 2007, Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” became a major global hit, and most people had no idea that Jesse McCartney co-wrote that track. Lewis delivered the powerhouse vocals, but it was McCartney and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder who wrote the track for Lewis to perform.

McCartney has been a huge success during his time in Hollywood, though there is still one venture we need to touch on. Since 2006, McCartney has been the voice of Roxas in the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise. He has voiced the character countless times and has been a fixture in the franchise.
