Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are two of Hollywood's biggest celebrities and one of the richest couples. And because they are two of Hollywood's biggest celebrities, they have busy lives, especially after taking barely a year off due to the pandemic.
The couple got married in 2018, after only a few months of dating. Despite their almost 10-year age difference, the two are happy in love and try not to let others get in their heads. In 2019, Nick told Entertainment Tonight, "I knew once we locked in together that I had a partner for life and a teammate, someone I could walk through the good times and the bad times with, and that was the key.”
Whether it's acting, singing, sponsoring a brand or just hanging out on an off-day, the Jonas' have done quite a bit this year and always make time for each other. Here's everything they've done.
16 Priyanka Chopra 'The White Tiger'
To start off the year, Priyanka starred in a movie called The White Tiger. It was adapted after the 2008 novel of the same name and is about about Balram, who comes from a poor Indian village and uses his wit and cunning to escape from poverty. Chopra played Pinky, Balaram's wife in the film. The White Tiger received positive reviews from critics and was even nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at this year's Oscars.
15 Nick Jonas Starred In 'Chaos Walking'
Along with music, Nick has dabbled in acting. To start off his year, Jonas starred in the dyspotian action film, Chaos Walking, which also featured Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley. The film follows a young man (Holland) who lives in a dystopian world without women, where all living creatures can hear each other's thoughts in streams of images, words, and sounds called "Noise". When a woman (Ridley) crash-lands on the planet, he must help her escape danger. Jonas played Davy Prentis Jr. , a solider and the mayor's son. Chaos Walking was a box-office flop and received mostly negative reviews from critics.
14 Priyanka Released Her Memoir
Priyanka released her memoir, Unfinished, in February of this year. The book talks about her childhood in India, moving to the U.S. as a teen, beauty competitions and acting, as well as her husband, Nick. It quickly became a New York Times bestseller and the actress went on a virtual book tour to promote it. Unfinished is available wherever books are sold. And as the title implies, there is so much more she wants to do in life.
13 Nick Released A Solo Album
Don't worry. Nick didn't break-up the Jonas Brothers again. He just released his solo album Spaceman as a side project. The album was released in March and was inspired by the pandemic and being isolated from his family and Priyanka. It sparked the singles, "Spaceman, "This Is Heaven" and on the deluxe track a song by the Jonas Brothers called "Selfish." His fourth album is the follow-up to 2016's Last Year Was Complicated and the first one to be released since the Jonas Brothers reunion in 2019.
12 Nick Jonas Did Double Duty On 'SNL'
To promote his new songs, Nick performed his new music on Saturday Night Live, as well as did the hosting duties. This was the first time he hosted the show, but he was an expert when it came to performing. He has been a musical guest three times in the past, twice as the Jonas Brothers. His brother, Kevin, showed up to support him, and Nick joked with him and assured him the band was still together.
11 Nick And 'The Voice'
Nick Jonas joined season 18 of The Voice as a full-time coach. He joked around a lot with his co-stars, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. Even though, his time on the show was pretty successful, Jonas left after the season and Gwen Stefani took his place. The singer returned for season 20, after the Jonas Brothers had to cancel their Vegas residency. The 29-year-old left again after that season and Ariana Grande took his place. No reason was given, but it is most likely due to tour commitments.
10 Both Announced The Oscar Nominations
In March, the couple had the honor of announcing the nominations for the 2021 Academy Awards. Chopra called it the coolest 'work from home day ever!' They decided not to attend the ceremony, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will never forget that honor. Despite Chopra's film being nominated, they weren't nominated for anything individually and Chopra was in London at the time, so it was just easier to stay where they were.
9 The BAFTAs
However, they did both attend the BAFTAs together this year. Not only did they stun on the red carpet, but they showed off some PDA, and they looked happy to be there together. Chopra was a presenter at the awards this year, so their attendance was necessary. The White Tiger was nominated in two categories at the BAFTAs- Best Leading Male Actor and Adapted Screenplay For Director.
8 Priyanka And Nick Collaborated With Together For India
Later that month, the couple joined forces for Together For India- which is a foundation to help those in India suffering from COVID-19 because they don't have enough resources. They encouraged others to support and donate as well. Chopra set up a fundraiser with Give India. Nick revealed the contributions will go towards creating physical infrastructure, medical equipment and vaccination support. Ultimately, they helped to raise over $3 million.
7 Nick Cracked A Rib
After the Jonas Brothers appeared on the NBC show, Olympic Dreams featuring the Jonas Brothers, where they performed many sports in the Olympics, Nick revealed he cracked a rib after he took a tumble while they were performing BMX tricks. The injury happened in May and were not lift-threatening, but he was in pain for a while. The special aired in August.
"I think the tape kind of speaks for itself," Nick Jonas said in a press conference tacked on at the end of the special. "I always give 110 percent, and sometimes that gets you the gold. In this case, it got me a fractured rib, bruised tailbone, and a hospital dinner. But I'm recovering. Thanks for asking, next question."
6 Nick Hosted The 'Billboard Music Awards'
Shortly after injuring himself, Jonas suited up to host the Billboard Music Awards and you wouldn't have even of known that he was injured if you didn't watch the special. Priyanka attended too, but wasn't supposed to until she heard he cracked a rib. She flew home from London to support him. The Jonas Brothers had just announced their new tour, and they performed their song, "Leave Before You Love Me" with Marshmello along with their greatest hits.
5 Priyanka's Cheeky Selfie
During the Summer, they finally got to spend some time together, as Priyanka was home from filming. She posted a cheeky selfie of her and Nick in their bathing suits and Nick was pretending to use a knife and fork on her behind. She captioned the photo, "Snack," and the photo received over 3 million likes. She then posted another photo that said, "Sunday like these." They had some down time together before Nick had to go on tour.
4 Nick Jonas' New Music And Tour
This year along with his solo album, Nick released a slew of singles with his brothers including "Leave Before You Love Me," "Remember This," "Mercy" and "Who's In Your Head." Then, the brothers went on the Remember This Tour, starting in August and ventured into outside venues. The tour ends on October 27. They have yet to release their next album, but fans are just excited to see them on the road again.
3 Priyanka And Global Citizen
Priyanka has always been one to fight for the health and equality of the world, so of course she would co-host Global Citizen in Paris, which is an education and advocacy organization aiming to end poverty. Nick did not attend the event with his wife this year as he was one tour, but he did leave a comment on her Instagram post about her outfit. "Wow," he commented on the pictures and videos with a heart eye emoji. She hosted with Denis Brogniart.
2 They Are Producing 'Chicken & Biscuits'
Nick and Priyanka joined the team of producers on Broadway's Chicken & Biscuits. The play will open in NYC in October. Nick and Priyanka talked to Playbill about the play. “This play highlights the importance of love, laughter, and family. It’s got energy, it’s got style, and it’s got heart,” said Nick. “The kind of vibe that is so unique to live theatre.”
Priyanka added, “It’s time we see some more diversity on the stage, and this cast and production team is making history on that front. This is a monumental moment for the industry, and I’m overjoyed to be a part of it.”
1 Priyanka's Perfect Day Off
Priyanka spent her day off on a boat in a beautiful yellow bathing suit and an adorable dog and some friends. She captioned her photo, "A perfect day off #AboutYesterday." Nick always comments on his wife's posts and this time was no different. "Damn girl," he commented.
Fans thought the interaction was adorable between the husband and wife. Chopra has been shooting Citadel in Spain for a while and finally got a day off to do nothing and have some relaxation.
