Flava Flav has been a musician and producer for a number of years now and is most recognizable by his unique appearance. Always seen with a huge clock dangling from his neck, the rapper has made a name for himself not just as an entertainer, but as being entangled with the law and with family court matters. When it comes to living a wild lifestyle, he's certainly been there.

He has experienced everything from the highest musical achievements during sold out shows, to the lowest levels of incarceration and financial difficulty. Amomama confirms that he's the father of 7 children that he recognizes, a stepson that he considers as his own, and a child that is proven to be his, but he refuses to acknowledge as baby #8. Here's the information that's been collected about all of Flava Flav's children...

8 There Are A Few Baby Mamas In The Mix

Flava Flav doesn't just have a lot of children, he also happens to have a lot of baby mamas who he shares the children with. If it seems complicated, it's because it is. His fatherhood story began when he was with Karen Ross. While they were together, they welcomed three children into this world. Karen and Flava Flav welcomed one son to the world, that they named Shaniq Drayton, and then two daughters followed, Jasmine Drayton, and Kayla Drayton.

He then had an affair with Angie Parker and had daughter Dazyna Drayton and two beautiful boys named Quanah Drayton, and William Drayton.

Flav went on to marry Liz Trujillo, during which time he had his seventh son, Karma.

Since then, former assistant Kate Gammell used a paternity test to prove he fathered her son named Jordan.

7 All 7 Kids Have Grown Up Without Child Support

Flava Flav has a brood of children, and kids are certainly expensive to care for. That doesn't seem to have been a problem for Flava Flav, though, as much as it has been for all of his baby mamas. Sadly, Answers Africa indicates the artist hasn't made good on any of his child support payments along the way.

Both Karen Ross and Angie Parker have had to seek court guided assistance in order to try to receive financial assistance from Flava Flav. He has been irresponsible with child support, and court filings against him are the cumulative totals that have really built up over time.

6 Dazyna Drayton Was Homeless

Event Host, cannabis enthusiast, and star of Growing Up Hip Hop, Dazyna Drayton, made a shocking revelation during one of the episodes of the show. In an emotional outburst, she declared that there was a point in her life during which she was homeless, and she faults her father for not being there for her. She claimed he was not there to assist her emotionally, financially, or any level.

5 Dazyna Drayton Is Immersed In Entertainment

Out of all seven of his children, Dazyna Drayton is taking after her father the most, in the sense that she is heavily immersed in the world of entertainment. She has been a long time cast member of Growing Up Hip Hop and has made regular appearances on other shows. She also happens to be musically inclined and has worked alongside her brothers to create and produce music.

Dazyna has been the most forward-facing of Flava Flav's children and has offered insight about her father and her relationship with him through a variety of podcasts and television interviews.

4 All His Children Have Dealt With His Imprisonment Issues

Flava Flav has been arrested so many times that it's hard to keep count. He's been in and out of jail for most of his life, and most would agree he's been behind bars the majority of the time. In 1991, he plead guilty to assaulting Karen Ross and did a one month stint in jail. He also lost custody of his children at this time.

At one stage in his life, Flava Flav also had an astounding 78 driving charges piled up against him.

His issues with addiction increased, and in 1993, he was charged with attempted murder for shooting at his neighbor and spent another three months in jail. In 2012, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence battery, and these are just the highlights. His children have largely grown up without a father, since he was dealing with lockup and all the court appearances associated with the various charges.

3 William And Quan Create Music Like Their Dad

It appears the musical gene has been passed down from Flava Flav to his children. Alongside Dazyna, William and Quan have also created studio tracks and have been proud enough to want to share their hard work and talents with their father.

They asked him to head in to the studio so they could seek some input and assistance in releasing their music. He did attend and give their tunes a listen, expressing his pride at their amazing work. Ultimately, he failed them when he refused to assist them with their music, in spite of stating he was impressed by what they had done.

2 Karma Experienced Trauma At The Hands Of Flava Flav

According to Live Or Amp Up, his youngest son experienced trauma at the hands of his father in 2012. It's unclear precisely what led to this shocking series of events, but it turns out that Flava Flav chased Karma, the son he shares with Liz Trujillo, with a kitchen knife.

The incident occurred in their Las Vegas home and he faced charges, which were later reduced when he managed to reconcile with his family.

1 Jasmine, Shaniq, And Kayla Are Out Of The Spotlight

While some of Flava Flav's children have made regular television and media appearances and have been forthcoming with information about their dad, Shaniq, Kayla and Jasmine have largely been removed from the public sphere. These are the children he shares with Karen Ross, and very little is known about them - especially about his daughters Kayla and Jasmine. They've kept their private lives sealed and have not been as comfortable in the spotlight as his other children have been.
