If you've watched the hilarious new Netflix romantic comedy, The Wrong Missy, then you know who Lauren Lapkus is. If not, chances are you recognize her from The Big Bang Theory or Orange Is The New Black.

Although she is mostly known for her quirky and funny characters, this actress is quite versatile and can play any type of role. While she is living the hectic Hollywood life, Lauren enjoys a normal and low-key home life with her husband, Mike Castle.

Mike Castle, who has recently been rising to fame, thanks to his new Netflix series, Brews Brothers, happens to be well-suited to Lauren, as he is also known for his funny persona.

In this article, we take a look at everything we know about Lauren and Mike's relationship.

10 They Married In 2018

Lauren has been married before. In 2014, the actress married fellow comedian, Chris Alvarado. However, they separated in 2016. Apparently, this breakup happened for a reason - a better match was waiting for Lauren.

When we look at Lauren and Mike's history, it definitely seems like everything really does happen for a reason. In 2018, the couple tied the knot in a simple and intimate ceremony.

9 They Had A Very Simple Ceremony

As mentioned above, Mike and Lauren chose to have a discreet and simple wedding ceremony and reception. The two actors got married at the courthouse, before celebrating their union at a small dinner party with friends and family.

As a matter-of-fact, Lauren wore a very beautiful and simple dress, with a flattering wavy hairstyle. The couple looked very chic, yet very relaxed, and so ideally matched.

Sometimes, less is more, right?

8 They Are Best Friends

Marrying your best friend is probably the ultimate dream for many. Luckily for Lauren, this dream really did come true. In a recent interview, the Jurrasic World actress revealed how happy she was to finally be marrying her best friend.

Their relationship is undoubtedly loving and intimate, as they often appear together and seem to be having the best time. We can imagine them being the type of couple to never make a friend feel like a third wheel.

7 They Are Three Years Apart

Mike was born on February 27, 1989, while Lauren was born on September 6, 1985. As Mike is 31 and Lauren is 34, Lauren is just a bit older than her husband.

This small difference in age is really not so noticeable. Both Mike and Lauren look as if they are aging in reverse. Regardless of their birth dates, the most important part of their relationship is that they make each other happy, and from what we are seeing, they are really happy!

6 They Are Parents To A Cute Little Dog

Lauren is a self-proclaimed dog lover and we are not surprised in the slightest. She recently appeared in a video for the YouTube channel, Bustle, where she showed a typical day in her life with her dog.

As Mike is now married to Lauren, he is (by default) a dog-lover - along with his wife, he's a parent to Franny, who is a Chihuahua and Maltese-Yorkie mix. Lauren adopted Franny six years ago and Franny hasn't been without her mommy since.

5 They Are Both Netflix Stars

Luckily, we can watch most of Lauren's work from the comfort of our own homes. This also applies to Mike, who most recently appears on Netflix's Brews Brothers.

As mentioned before, Lauren appears in the new Netflix movie, The Wrong Missy, but has also acted in The Big Bang Theory, Orange Is The New Black, Netflix Presents: The Characters, and more. She's omnipresent on the streaming website.

We could say that the couple works for the same company, which probably is an advantage, especially when it comes to attending official events!

4 They Both Have A Background In Improv

Besides being raised in Illinois, Lauren and Mike have many other things in common. One of them is their background in improv.

That's right - while Lauren began taking improv classes in her senior year of high school, Mike was also attending improv classes in Chicago. Lauren continued to perform improv while attending university, while Mike also got involved in theatre and improvisation before moving to Los Angeles.

3 Mike Used To Listen To Lauren's Podcasts

The Blended actress hosts a very successful podcast called "With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus". Lauren runs the improv comedy podcast, and each week, she takes the role of being the guest, while her guest takes the role of the host. Guests become hosts and these guests can decide the title of the podcast, the topics, and what character Lauren has to play.

The podcast seemed to have caught Mike's eye, or should we say his ears, as it was because of this exact show that the actor got intrigued by Lauren in the first place. In a recent interview, Mike explained that he thought Lauren was extremely funny, and that he loved listening to her podcast.

2 They Are Both From Illinois

Distance may make grow the heart fonder, but staying next to each other seems to make this couple grow even stronger. Probably, the married couple will never have to worry about being far away from each other, as they happen to come from the same state.

That's right, as we touched on earlier, both Mike and Lauren are from Illinois. Lauren is from Evanston while Mike is from Chicago. The two actors have probably shared a lot of similar memories from their upbringings in the same state. They can certainly relate to many topics that people from other states might not understand.

1 They Met When They Were Both Working On Shows

It seems like most famous couples meet on-set or at events involving their work. Well, it appears that these two talented people were no exception. Indeed, the now married-couple apparently first met when they were both working on separate shows.

It is unclear which project Lauren was working on; however, we do know that at the time, Mike was working on Brews Brothers. Unfortunately, we don't have the full story behind the pair's actual first encounter, but we can imagine that they had a funny conversation behind the scenes.
