When Whitney Port starred on the MTV reality series The City, she was a twentysomething with fashion dreams and having a great time. The star has said her reality TV experience was positive and fans can watch her talk about old episodes on her YouTube channel with her husband, Timmy.

Just like Lauren Conrad has been busy after starring on The Hills, Port is all grown up now, too, and motherhood is one of the biggest things that she has experienced in the past few years.

Let's take a look at everything we know about Whitney Port as a mom.

Being Pregnant

Whitney Port married Tim Rosenman in 2015 and in 2017, Port had their son, Sonny, who is now three years.

Port has talked about insecurity about her "post-birth body"  and she was very open about her pregnancy as well.

People often hear about "the pregnancy glow" and yet for so many women, those nine months aren't such a glorious experience. Whitney Port shared that she was nauseous during her pregnancy and she said, "Pregnancy was hard for me," according to People.

Port talked about the "body image issues" she felt in her second trimester, and she also shared that when she was a few months away from giving birth, she knew that it would a huge change in her life. That brought many feelings.

Port also had a YouTube series called "I Love My Baby, But I Hate My Pregnancy" where she shared more about her symptoms.

Her Openness About Being A Mom

Port has also been open about the truth of motherhood, and she has written for a few online publications about her experiences.

In a column for Flare, Port was open about how tough breastfeeding was. She wrote, "I was fortunate enough to produce milk, but I was constantly in pain and uncomfortable. The pumping and nursing was exhausting and a hassle, and my body changed immensely."

Port also said that it has been wonderful watching her husband, Timmy, as a dad, and that it has helped her "feel even closer" to him. Port wrote, "We were a family before Sonny, but now I feel as though our bond is unbreakable and that makes me feel very comfy and cozy. The love is tangible." That is so beautiful to hear and it's really great that Port shares both the wonderful and the hard parts of being a mother.

Port also wrote a piece for Refinery 29 that she was "overwhelmed" and felt "like a truck had hit me" when she got home from the hospital and was dealing with the early days of having a newborn. She used to look at other mothers on Instagram and felt like they could "go back to normal" so quickly and easily, but that wasn't her experience.

Everything that Port says about being a mom is so relatable, and chances are that many women are so glad that she has spoken out.

The Journey To Baby #2

Port recently shared that she had a miscarriage, and according to People, she had also experienced one in 2019.

According to E Online, Port told her fans the sad news on Instagram. She said, "Timmy and I weren't sure if we still wanted to put this out there. I wasn't sure I wanted to relive the pain. However, this time around, I felt differently about the situation. Last time, I don't think I was ready to have another child, and I had different feelings about the miscarriage. This time, I really connected."

Port explained, "The doctor will probably say to wait a couple months until we try again and during that time we'll go to the fertility doctor and get all the tests to see if there's anything going on that I don't know about. And then whatever there is, we'll deal with and then we'll start trying again," according to People. She also mentioned that they might consider adoption if they decide to have a third child.

Port told Hollywood Life that balance doesn't look the same every day. She said, “I think first and foremost, it’s about taking care of you and making sure that you’re set up for success, that you have done the things that you need to do in order to be your best self." She said that might be "an hour for yourself."

Whitney Port is definitely right that there are many social media posts that seem to suggest that motherhood is super easy and there's no recovery time after birth. It's great that Port's fans have a refreshing and open person to look up to.
