She's the social media star known for her hilarious takes on what NOT to do in a relationship, so what does get Torry Hermann's stamp of approval? In an exclusive interview with TheThings, Torry spoke about her biggest dating red flags, joked about the first date NO man should ever suggest, and revealed what her dream first date looks like.
The First Date Idea Torry Says Should Be Vetoed - YESTERDAY!
Asked about her absolute no-no for a first date with her social media persona - to whom she adorably refers as "my Russian girlfriend" - Torry doesn't mince her words: "a walk."
Putting on the thick Russian accent that's become her signature, she jokes, "what am I? Your Dog? Why do you want to take me on a walk? You can't take me to a restaurant because what, they don't let dogs in?" before bursting into a fit of giggles.
Another no no? Asking to be picked up. Still laughing, she shares, "no one has ever asked me to pick them up - thankfully [for them], because they wouldn't get a very good response!"
As for the topic that shouldn't be brought up for the first date (or second, or third!), Torry shares that one of her biggest red flags, early on, is a guy talking about his ex-girlfriends. She goes on to explain, "later on, when you're already in a relationship, that's fine, but on the first few dates, it's a little weird!"
...Versus Her Dream First Date
So, no walks, and no complaining of exes...but what is Torry looking forward to, on a dream first date? And no, it's not a trip to the shooting range, as one of her TikTok videos recently suggested!
As it turns out, according to Torry, "it's the small gestures that make the difference between an average date and one you'll actually remember."
Noting that her very first boyfriend brought her flowers every time he saw her - "even if it was one little rose, or five tulips" - Torry says she wishes more men put in the effort to make women feel special on a first date. "Flowers are very important and they're not very expensive - it's just a sweet gesture men used to make in the past."
Continuing with what would constitute her ideal first date, Torry says the next stop would be a nice restaurant. "It doesn't need to be an expensive place," she explains, before laughing, "as long as it's not Starbucks or McDonalds!" From there, Torry shares that a "romantic walk" would be a great way to end the evening - notice, walks are tolerable as an after-dinner activity - and, should it get a little chilly, the ideal scenario would be her date lending her his jacket.
Is Torry Dating Someone At The Moment?
Torry previously shared on her YouTube channel that she's turned down not one - not even two - but THREE marriage proposals, but, she explains to TheThings, after her most recent relationship, she was single for well over a year. Well, until two months ago, that is!
While she was sure to take as much time as she needed to move on from her previous relationship, Torry met someone on Tinder 2 months ago, and so far, it's going well!
The Bombshell Torry Revealed On Her Third Date
The question is, how did being a TikTok star impact the early stages? "So...I actually didn't tell him that I have a TikTok account," she chuckles, admitting that she told her new beau she was a social media manager, instead.
However, there's a reason behind that. "I used to tell guys about my TikTok right away, but then they'd watch and complain that I hated men," she laughs, before setting the record straight: "I don't!"
Understandable or not, the social media manager charade couldn't last forever, and Torry explains that on the third date, she decided to come clean. His reaction? Drum roll....
"He was like, 'Victoria, I Googled you'." Well, at least he knew he was dating an undercover star!
