For a long time, fans have pitied Jennifer Aniston. Though it's been over 15 years since she and Brad Pitt divorced (not to mention Jen's been remarried and divorced again, too), onlookers still think that Jennifer was totally wronged by her ex.

It didn't help that Brad and Angelina Jolie picked up so soon after the split, or that they starred in a film together. Later, Angie would say they fell in love on set, even though Brad was still married to Jen at the time.

But even this many years later, some fans still ship a reunion between Brad and Jennifer. They think that Brad is crawling back to apologize to Jennifer, probably trying to make up for all the years he spent flaunting his partnership with Angelina. Then again, Jen's friends apparently want her to date some other actor, anyhow.

The thing is, fans have a theory about the dissolution of Brad and Jennifer's former marriage. And in a surprising twist, they think it was Jen who stepped out on Brad and started burning the marriage down.

An anonymous fan on Quora laid out the theory: Years ago, while 'Friends' was still on the air, Jennifer Aniston was having an "illicit" relationship with Matt LeBlanc.

The proof? Well, a video from 1998 shows the two embracing, says the anonymous critic. Jennifer is speaking to a man, when Matthew walks up to her, hugs her, and kisses her on the lips.

No word on whether an image of Matt smooching Jen is from that same year, or possibly from season 10 (2003) of 'Friends,' where Rachel and Joey briefly date.

Fans will remember that 1998 was the year that Jennifer met Brad. They began dating and were later married in 2000. But on Quora, onlookers speculate that Jennifer leftBrad for Matt.

The anonymous commenter even goes so far as to suggest that Aniston's PR team was in on the goings-on and purposely positioned Jennifer as the wronged party in her breakup with Brad. The "phony victim saint narrative" lasted for over a decade, said the anonymous commenter, but there were some breaks in the facade, too.

For one thing, they claim, Matthew's father (Paul LeBlanc) once confirmed his son's relationship with Jennifer Aniston. While there's no documentation of such an exclusive interview, proponents of the theory also point to Jennifer's thanking Matt in her Golden Globes speech, instead of Brad, in 2004.

The anonymous Quora reporter explains away most of the lack of evidence to Jennifer's team having scrubbed the internet of any telltale signs that she wasn't a victim in the split from Brad. So really, it's up to fans whether to believe this tall tale or not.

But with inklings of John Mayer's lingering interest in Aniston, maybe there are more explosive dating rumors to come.
