Is there drama brewing between Nicki Minaj and Lil Uzi Vert?
That’s what fans seem to think after the rapper took to his Instagram Story on September 4 to post a throwback photo of Minaj with then-boyfriend Meek Mill.
The pic sees Mill kiss his former flame’s feet, with the picture itself dating back to around 2015, leaving a lot of people confused.
Uzi added no text or any sort of explanation for fans to understand why he was posting the picture, to begin with, but many took this as an insult to Minaj considering the pair have been friends for years.
Uzi has been vocal in the past, saying that he loves and respects Minaj, whom he collaborated with on their 2017 song “The Way Life Goes, so what was the purpose of posting a photo of the “Hard White” hitmaker with her ex?
It’s particularly odd since Minaj and Mill didn’t end their relationship on good terms.
After a two-year romance, Minaj decided to call it quits with her rapper beau, who then went on a tirade about the breakup in a series of bizarre social media posts.
In early 2020, Mill came face-to-face with Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty in a boutique in West Hollywood, with sources saying things almost turned violent when the Philadelphia-born artist tried to make amends with his ex over some of the things he had said in the past.
Petty, however, didn’t want to hear any of it and warned Mill to keep his distance and leave his wife alone, prompting security officers to interfere and dissolve the heated confrontation.
In 2020, Minaj publicly claimed that domestic abuse was part of the reason she ended up calling it quits with her ex, who she further asserted had also put his hands on his sister.
“You a [clown]. U do IT for likes. #TwitterFingers beat women, scared of men,” she tweeted in February 2020.
“N—- been tweeting bout my man for a year now. Talking bout he went to my page to see him but he was blocked. My n—-, move on.”
