There has been a lot of hype around Tom Hardy's latest foray onto the big screen in Marvel's Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage. The movie's press circuit alone stirred fans into a frenzy by dolling out potential spoilers and teasing future MCU crossovers left right and center. As the new superhero flick begins to debut in theaters across the globe, fans on social media are going out of their way trying to avoid major spoilers.

Fans who are well-seasoned in their MCU movie premieres know all too well the importance of an end-credits scene. Many remember how the post-credits of the first Venom movie gave fans an early glimpse at Miles Morales in Sony's highly-acclaimed Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

With growing excitement for the live-action Tom Holland-fronted movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, many Marvel fans were hopeful that they might get a sneak peek of Peter Parker once the Venom: Let There Be Carnage credits had rolled.

If the videos circulating Twitter that claim to show a leaked scene from Venom 2 are anything to go by, these fans may well have got their wish. The clip in question shows Eddie Brock sitting on his bed before the room around him starts changing and lights begin flashing, in a sequence akin to that between Dr. Strange and Peter Parker in the No Way Home trailer.

The video draws to a close with Eddie transforming into Venom and approaching the television, where Holland's Spider-Man is being featured on the news.

Fans on social media are torn between going wild over the apparent confirmation of a Spider-Man and Venom crossover, and trying in vain to avoid the latest leak. One Twitter user responded, "WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT VENOM 2 LEAK HOLY S***" and another wrote, "THE VENOM POST CREDIT SCENE LEAK?!?! I mean I kinda expected that but oh wow."

However, some have been reluctant to trust the validity of the leaked scene, especially after the recent circulation of what many suspects to be a deep-faked clip of Andrew Garfield on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man movie. One fan wrote, "That Venom 2 leak looks kinda fake", while another tweeted, "THE VENOM LEAKS I'M SORRY BUT I'M NEVER SHUTTING UP, i can't tell if it's real or fake though."

The reactions of the press who have so far been granted early screenings of Venom: Let There Be Carnage seem to confirm, at least, that something of massive shock-factor is revealed after the movie's end credits. Here's hoping that the rampant fan suspicion will be confirmed, and Hardy's Venom will indeed appear in No Way Home alongside the already-confirmed host of multiverse villains.

After all — the Spider-Man movie's December release date is getting closer by the day, and it won't be long until all is revealed.
