It would be easy to pigeonhole someone like Sydney Sweeney. Not only does she represent some of the stereotypical elements of the beautiful girl next door, but she tends to play a lot of those types of characters, particularly on the HBO hit series Euphoria. But a closer look at Sydney's Instagram, her copious interviews, and her TikTok account reveals that she's a lot more about her than what meets the eye.
While Sydney is intensely private about certain elements of her life, including her secret boyfriend Jonathan Davino, the Big Time Adolescence star has become increasingly more open about what she actually does with her spare time. And without a doubt, her fans are totally surprised by her secret passions...
Firstly, Sydney Is A Car Wiz And A Mechanic
When Sydney revealed that she actually does her own truck bodywork and restoration, her fans were really surprised. After all, she doesn't exactly give off the vibe of someone who would be into such a thing.
Perhaps it's ignorant to be surprised at a beautiful young woman who would be so into fixing cars. But let's face it, not many actors in her age group appear to be interested in such a thing... let alone good at it.
After seeing Sydney's TikTok and Instagram posts, fans took to Twitter to express how impressed they were with the Euphoria actor. Not only was she getting down and dirty with her red Ford Bronco instead of paying someone else to tune it up, but she was also doing an exceptionally professional job of it. She looked like a total pro. Of course, Sydney was wearing her bright pink mechanic gloves because... well... she's still Sydney Sweeney!
On top of actually enjoying getting grease and oil all over her, Sydney loves driving and driving fast, for that matter. She's been seen at the Porsche test track in Los Angeles and clearly is a bit of a car buff.
Secondly, She Is A Lot More Outdoorsy
This may come as less of a shock, but Sydney is extremely outdoorsy. Unlike some of her peers who are keen to just lay around a pool, Sydney can often be spotted up in the mountains searching for remote waterfalls to climb and swim. This is something that she loves to do with her dog, Tank, another major aspect of her life.
While filming HBO's The White Lotus in Hawaii, she, her boyfriend, and Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario were seen traversing some of the tropical island jungles. Of course, these days tended to be capped off by some beach time.
Near her hometown of Spokane, Washington, Sydney also learned how to waterski. She often shows off her incredible skills at wave riding on her Instagram.
But beaches, bikinis, and tropical locations aren't the only thing Sydney loves... she's also a fan of the cold, blustery winters... because that's the best time to do some skiing.
It seems like both Sydney's immediate and extended family are all into the winter sport as this tends to be an activity she does with them on a yearly basis.
Thirdly, She's A Bookworm And An Entrepreneur
Sydney knew she wanted to be an actor when she was really young. But given that she grew up in a small town in the middle of the state of Washington, this wasn't exactly the most attainable goal. Her parents discouraged it. But when an audition was presented to her, she decided to draw up a five-year plan and present it to her parents. This not only convinced them that Sydney knew what she was doing but also set Sydney up for a career as an entrepreneur.
Not only does Sydney act, but she makes a significant amount of money endorsing a wide variety of products. More importantly, she took her love of business to the next level by starting her very own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, with the help of acclaimed filmmakers Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross’ Crazyrose.
This became a passion of hers after she read Jessica Goodman's book, "They Wish They Were Us". Sydney secured the rights to the book and she and is producing and starring in an HBO adaptation titled The Player's Table alongside her friend Halsey.
Sydney is an avid reader and it's likely that she'll continue to attempt to adapt various novels with the resources that her business skills have brought her.

Because Sydney is a very well-rounded person, not to mention her job as an actor, beauty and fitness are also a major part of her life. She even turned her townhouse roof into an outdoor gym and keeps up with a strict diet and fitness regime to keep herself healthy, looking great on camera, and comfortable for all of those edgy photoshoots.
Speaking of edgy photoshoots, Sydney was chosen to be a brand ambassador for Parade's Silky Mesh Collection and was handpicked by Rihanna for her lingerie line SavagexFenty. Som yeah, it goes without saying that Sydney is also really into lingerie.
Clothing and make-up are also major passions for Sydney, particularly trying to empower young women to feel comfortable in their bodies. This is something that she didn't feel growing up and still feels insecure about as shown in her emotional reaction to some online bullying about her looks.
