Paris Hilton might be "sliving" her best life, however, things have not always been so easy-breezy, and beautiful for the socialite turned business mogul.

During a 2007 interview on The David Letterman Show, Paris Hilton had quite an uncomfortable experience, so much that it's safe to say that it wasn't "hot."

While she may have once been known for her last name and appearance on The Simple Life, Paris has gone on to create an empire, which includes her most recent podcast. During an episode of This Is Paris, the star spoke with her sister, Nicky Hilton, about the embarrassing interview.

The David Letterman Interview Fans Are Upset Over

David Letterman is quite the esteemed talk show host, or at least he was! While he may have snagged a new role with Netflix, the star left behind his iconic late-night gig back in 2015 after giving 33 years of his life to the job.

David Letterman has interviewed just about anyone and everyone from Barack Obama to Kim Kardashian, making it clear that the 74-year-old knows how to conduct himself during an interview...most of the time.

During his 2007 interview with Paris Hilton, David got quite a lot of backlash from fans of Paris' today following the humiliating exchange. Prior to her appearance, Paris revealed that her team had asked David to stray away from asking questions regarding her short stint in prison.

While the Letterman team agreed, it appears as if the host didn't get the memo! The interview, which spanned eight minutes, was meant to focus on Paris' new career path, lifestyle empire, and new reality series, however, all people wanted to know about was her time behind bars.

Well, during the interview, David Letterman grilled Paris regarding her experience in jail, and it went on for six of the eight minutes. Yikes! Hilton has since gone on to claim that she was "purposefully humiliated", which she later discussed on her podcast, This Is Paris.

Paris' co-host, Hunter March had asked about the interview, asking Paris Hilton if the exchange took her by surprise or not. "Was that a shock to you completely?" Hunter asked.

"Yes!" Paris said. "When I went in there, my team talked with him to make sure he wouldn't ask me anything about it [prison]. There was not supposed to be one question, but he kept pushing me and pushing. I was so uncomfortable and so upset," Paris shared.

The star went on to describe the moment as "very cruel and mean" after David Letterman got the audience to laugh, many times, as he continued to badger her with questions regarding the "slammer" as Letterman put it.

Paris also revealed alongside her sister, Nicky Hilton, who was on the podcast that episode, claiming that she had begged him to stop during commercial breaks.

"During commercial breaks, I was like 'please stop doing this, you promised you wouldn't talk about this, and it was the only reason why agreed to come on the show'," Paris said.

Luckily for Paris, the star stood her ground, and told David that he had "crossed a line". Fans are now upset over the interview, which had re-surfaced earlier this year.

Well, although fans aren't happy, David Letterman did apologize shortly after the 2007 interview, sending wine over to Paris' home, and later giving her flowers during her next appearance.
