It was a bold decision but as Chris Hemsworth revealed with People, it was a necessary one. Living in Hollywood, Hemsworth felt suffocated with work, it would ultimately lead to the actor moving to Australia, a decision he clearly does not regret, “When you’re suffocated by the work, every conversation that you’re having and every billboard you’re seeing is to do with a movie or whatever around the industry, you lose perspective,” Hemsworth said.
Another major plus, his interactions are alongside people who aren’t in the same business, “There’s not a single person that I interact with, or close friends of mine, that are really in the industry and so that’s hugely refreshing,” the actor said. “It’s great for my kids and my wife.”
He spent most of the year alongside his family, staying at home. He appears to be happier than ever, though of course, Thor: Love and Thunder is nearby.
Most recently, he was having a great time at an ‘80s themed party, alongside a few other actors including Idris Elba and Matt Damon. He posted a photo to IG and of course, fans were quick to get on his case, given that a party took place during a pandemic. Though most fans forgot one important thing… he isn’t in Hollywood any longer.

Of course, nowadays, when fans see a photo of celebs partying and with no masks, they start to panic. It caused quite the stir in Hemsworth's recent IG post.
Thankfully, a lot of the fans were on top of things.
“Did Americans forget that other countries exist or.”
“Everyone say it with me now: THEY 👏🏻 ARE 👏🏻 IN 👏🏻 AUSTRALIA 👏🏻.”
“I am giggle at everyone who is like “where are you’re masks”. Some countries actually got a hold on the pandemic and don’t have to take precautions anymore.”
“The amount of people commenting on social distancing ,mask wearing and we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic .... NO we are in Australia 🇦🇺 Pretty much COVID free.”
At the very least, some fans were able to identify that they were in a COVID-free zone. It caused some serious chaos.
