Known for his roles in Juno and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, Elliot has been sharing candid moments about his life ever since coming out as a trans man in December. The actor recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey in a deeply personal interview, and fans are commending him for being vulnerable and making a powerful appearance.

The Oscar-nominated actor previously made history by gracing the cover of Time magazine, becoming the first trans man to do so. It was a huge milestone for trans representation and fans were incredibly proud. Page has continued to be his true self and is giving fans a personal look at his journey, through his conversation with Winfrey.

Fans Applaud Elliot For Being Open And Brave

"I feel so grateful to be at this place in my life, and I want to use the strength I have to help in all the ways that I can," Page shared alongside a clip of the interview.

The actor shared with Winfrey that before making the revelation via Instagram, he’d been expressing thoughts about his identity with the people in his life. He felt it was "imperative" to share the letter online in an attempt to reach out to transgender youth who may have been facing discrimination.

"The experience I had closeted so long…you know, I came out as gay right before my 27th birthday. Up until then, I had pretty much never even touched someone outside who I was in love with. And so I think any kind of sensation of feeling that again, there was just no way I could do it."

Sharing his feelings with the world "felt important," the actor added, especially for his well-being and mental health.
