Barbra Streisand, who starred in the 1976 film, A Star Is Born, has taken back her previous blessing to the 2018 version.

A Star Is Born originated in 1937 with director, David O. Selznick, starring Janet Gaynor and ‎Fredric March. Moss Hart adapted the film in 1954, with Judy Garland and James Mason. Finally, in 1976, Barbra Streisand and Kristoffer Kristofferson acted in the third rendition, directed by Frank Pierson.

Over 40 years later, A Star Is Born was released once again and this time starred the brilliant singer / songwriter, Lady Gaga, and the amazing Bradley Cooper.

Streisand already gave the movie her blessing after visiting the set but has since rejected her previous statement. She believed the leading actor and actress' shoes were going to be filled by a different duo.

"At first, when I heard it was going to be done again, it was supposed to be Will Smith and Beyoncé, and I thought, that's interesting. Really make it different again, different kind of music, integrated actors, I thought that was a great idea," the 79-year-old singer-actress — who, opposite Kris Kristofferson, previously fronted Frank Pierson's adaptation of the oft-retold story — said during Sunday's episode of Australian talk series The Sunday Project. "So, I was surprised when I saw how alike it was to the version that I did in 1976."

Streisand was not impressed with the film's similarity to her adaptation of the film.

She added that she "thought it was the wrong idea," but that she "can't argue with success" after the Cooper-directed film won Gaga her first Academy Award, received a Best Picture nomination, spawned a No. 1 single in the film's signature tune "Shallow," and grossed $436 million worldwide. Still, she finished, "I don't care so much about success as I do originality."

Streisand's surprising comments come after both Cooper and Gaga complimented and praised Streisand during all their interviews.

"She gave us a blessing. Everybody was so excited she was there. We just looked at each other and were like, 'Wow. How are we here right now?'" Cooper previously told EW, while Gaga added, "She was so, so kind."

Streisand may be one of the OG's of this film, however, all these golden statuettes don't lie. Cooper and Gaga's numerous wins are both very well deserved.
