Machine Gun Kelly and Conor McGregor were seen participating in a physical altercation on the red carpet during the VMAs. It seems Conor may have gotten confused and thought he was in the ring for a second.
Machine Gun Kelly arrived with girlfriend Megan Fox who later introduced him and Travis Barker's performance alongside Kourtney Kardashian. Conor McGregor came with his fiancé Dee Devlin and later presented the Artist of the Year award to Justin Bieber.
News of the fight broke out on the red carpet like wildfire and multiple videos emerged showing security stepping in to break it up. The event did not even start yet and drama had already struck the 2021 VMAs.
Conor McGregor Loses it

After the brawl, Kelly and Fox were seen discussing what went down and they seemed completely unfazed about it. Later on in the night, Kelly went on to win the award for Best Alternative.
"They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again," a source said, according to Page Six, adding that photographers at the event "weren't happy" and were "saying they were going to boycott Conor because they were worried MGK and Megan wouldn’t walk the red carpet."
Thankfully, that didn't stop Fox and Kelly from annihilating the red carpet.

Conor McGregor claims nothing happened and it is just a rumor. "I only fight real fighters — people that actually fight. I certainly don't fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers."

At this point, there is no concrete evidence for what provoked the argument, but the speculation is that McGregor asked Kelly for a picture, which he declined.
