Grimes and Elon Musk have called it quits after three years together.
Page Six reported today (September 24) that Musk confirmed he and the Canadian singer (real name, Claire Boucher) are “semi-separated” but remain on good terms and continue to co-parent. Grimes and the American tech mogul have a one-year-old together, X Æ A-Xii Musk.
“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk said.
“It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room," he continued.
The pair first confirmed their relationship in 2018 and attended that year's Met Gala in matching outfits. They welcomed their baby boy in 2020.
They were last seen together at the Met Gala earlier this month, when Grimes walked the red carpet alone. Musk also attended the event but only joined her inside.
Fans React To Grimes And Elon Musk Being 'Semi-Separated'
The Internet has reacted to the split on social media. The reactions are very mixed, to say the least.
"Good Morning, 'Grimes dating Elon Musk' was a 3 year sociological study conducted by Harvard University. We are now complete with our study. Thank you for your time," someone wrote on Twitter.
"Grimes deserve better anyways," one fan wrote on Twitter.
"who’s gonna take care of their small software," was another comment.
"As weird as the relationship was, it just made sense," one fan of Musk and Grimes wrote.
"feel bad for baby x but SHES FREE," another person wrote.

Some even leaned into pop culture territory to voice their feelings about the split.
One Twitter user posted a clip from the Scary Movie franchise seeing The Ring character Samara going from her broody persona to her adorable self and comparing this to Grimes' journey after the split from Musk.
"Grimes and Elon musk are breaking up ??? Let’s look back at their most iconic moment," one fan offered, including a screengrab of Grimes calling out Musk on his dislike of pronouns.
Someone even took aim at Musk for deciding to go public with a statement about the end of his relationship with Grimes while the singer "is literally in the next room".

Grimes hasn't publicly commented on the split yet.
