Anya Taylor-Joy and Lil Nas X will appear in the final episode of this season of Saturday Night Live set to air on May 22.

SNL announced the final guests in a post shared on social media on May 3. Following Elon Musk’s controversial appearance scheduled for May 8, Keegan Michael-Key and Olivia Rodrigo will host on May 15, followed by Taylor-Joy and Lil Nas for the grand finale.

Fans Can’t Contain The Excitement At Anya Taylor-Joy And Lil Nas X SNL Gig

Taylor-Joy will host the legendary comedy show on its season finale, while Lil Nas X will perform his hit Montero (Call Me By Your Name) and a new song.

Both artists took to their social media platforms to announce their appearance.

The actress simply added a speak-no-evil monkey emoji to the official announcement picture.

“MONTERO + NEW SONG,” the rapper teased.

Fans quickly deemed this one of the best guest combinations in SNL history.

“not anya taylor joy being on with lil nas x that’s the best combination of all time,” one fan tweeted.

“ANYA TAYLOR JOY AND LIL NAS X TOGETHER ON SNL IDC ABOUT THE QUALITY OF HUMOR I WILL BE WATCHING AND S I M P I N G,” another user commented.

‘Are They Apologizing For The Elon Musk Fiasco?’

Some fans still aren’t over the fact that tech mogul Musk has been invited to host the show.

“WITH ANYA TAYLOR JOY!? Are they preemptively apologizing for the Elon fiasco?” was one comment.

“if we give them anya taylor joy and lil nas x will they forget about elon musk,” another wrote.

With very little comedic experience, Musk has enlisted the help of his 52.7 million followers to come up with some ideas.

“Throwing out some skit ideas for SNL. What should I do?” Musk wrote on May 1.

He tested out some skit concepts, including Irony Man, a superhero who “defeats villains using the power of irony” and a merge between Baby Shark and Shark Tank.

While some followers threw some ideas at Musk, others advised him to share his 176 million net worth with those in need.

"Do a skit about buying SNL and firing the actors that complained about being on with you. Then, when they say they'll get work somewhere else, say you bought that, too. Then, offer to hire them to go to Mars. On the outside of the shuttle..." one follower responded.

"Announce that you’re giving away half your fortune to help eradicate deep poverty, fight climate change and promote world peace," was another, perhaps more pressing, suggestion.
