JoJo Siwa and Kylie Prew were together for a little under a year, with the couple often taking to social media to flaunt their adorable PDA. So when JoJo and Kylie failed to share a post celebrating their nine-month anniversary -something the couple typically did every month- fans immediately started to wonder if, perhaps, the two decided to end things. The Dance Moms star has finally confirmed that she and Kylie called it quits, and fans were surprised after she released a public statement about the breakup. Here is what Jojo had to say about it.

Before the rumors of their split started taking over social media, eagle-eyed viewers noted that Kylie, who was usually in attendance at JoJo's Dancing With the Stars performances, was suddenly absent. A source close to the couple went on to tell Us Weekly that, "JoJo and Kylie did break up. Some [Dancing With the Stars] cast are aware of the breakup." Fans were shocked as it was honestly hard to believe that Kylie and JoJo's whirlwind romance was over.

Fans' Supporting Messages to JoJo After Their Break-Up

Internet users are supporting JoJo and wishing her the best after the breakup. One person wrote, "JoJo and Kylie have so much support and have so much love surrounding them. They are soulmates. Right person, wrong time! Soulmates can be romantic or platonic. Everything will be okay for both of them."

Another fan agreed and commented, "The worst part about dating your best friend is when you break up, you're most probably going to lose the friendship too, and that hurts more. Sending love to both of them."

JoJo Siwa Was Going Through Some Tough Times

JoJo Siwa broke headlines earlier this year when she confirmed that she was dating 18-year-old Kylie Prew, and since then, fans have been loving their adorable displays of affection on social media. JoJo has been keeping really busy this year with ongoing projects, including becoming the first Dancing With the Stars competitor to have a same-sex partner. She has been absolutely slaying it as a contestant.

But despite all of her recent success, JoJo admitted having some problems off the dance floor in a cryptic media post she wrote recently. On October 9, JoJo revealed that she'd been going through some tough times in the Instagram post. She said, "This has been a WEEK. My brain has never been so overwhelmed/overloaded with not only work but also personal life." Obviously, this sent fans into a frenzy, leading some to speculate that JoJo and Kylie had called it quits after nine months.

JoJo Siwa Confirmed the Breakup

JoJo and Kylie neglected to make any official statement on the matter, but all signs further pointed to "split" when the couple untagged each other from their Instagram posts. Finally, fans now have confirmation from JoJo herself that the couple did, in fact, decide to go their separate ways.

JoJo recently appeared in Paris Hilton's podcast, This is Paris, and when asked about her love life JoJo revealed the sad news, saying, "I have yet to talk about this officially publicly, but we broke up."

Thankfully, JoJo went on to add that she and Kylie are still best friends and that the split caused no hard feelings. She said they still speak to each other every day and talked about how Kylie recently got a new puppy.

The dancer said, "She's awesome, she's having the time of her life. I'm having the time of my life, so I'm really lucky that I didn't lose her completely because even though relationships end, friendships don't have to end." And JoJo does seem to be having the time of her life on Dancing With the Stars, where she and her partner Jenna Johnson have earned not one but two perfect scores on the show.

'Right Person, Wrong Time' Seems To Be What A Lot Of People Are Saying

Fans are happy that JoJo and Kylie are choosing to remain friends and that the two seem to be handling the split with maturity. But JoJo did touch on her heartbreak and how the relationship taught her a valuable lesson, saying her and Kylie's relationship was a classic case of "right person, wrong time." She added, "I'm really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad ever happened."

She capped off the interview by confirming that despite the recent breakup, "everything's good. I'm still good" and that the exes would still "take a bullet" for each other. JoJo never explained exactly why she and Kylie decided to call it quits, but she did hint that it had to do with both girls being so young, with Kylie and JoJo being only 18.

With a jam-packed schedule like JoJo's, fans can imagine it would certainly be hard to maintain a steady relationship, especially at such a young age. This is definitely not easy to go through, and internet users are sending their thoughts to JoJo as she continues to ride the waves of emotion that come with heartbreak. Now she's staying busy with projects like Dancing With the Stars, and that she has "older sister" mentors like Jenna Johnson and Paris Hilton to lean on for support.
