Nobody is foolish enough to think the Kardashians will bow out of the spotlight anytime soon, but their family's reality-TV show that has very much made the Kardashians a household name, is definitely winding down and coming to a firm close.

Kim Kardashian posted an emotional goodbye to her Instagram followers, and seemed truly choked up over the fact that her show will stop filming. The show has been on-air since 2007 and has followed the chaotic lives of the Kardashian and Jenner clan as they journey through their not-so-private lives. Is this really the end of an era, though?

Fans have weighed in on in a way Kim may not have expected.

Kim Says Goodbye

The leader of the pack of siblings, Kim Kardashian, will clearly face a transformation of sorts, as she steps away from her reality TV role. She posted a goodbye video along with the caption; "I wouldn’t leave you without some seriously ugly cry faces on our final 20th season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiering March 18th on E! @eentertainment." and it didn't take long at all for fans to react.

The video clip posted by Kim was set to the tune of Harry Styles' rendition of Sign Of The Times, and that's what really got fans going with their comments.

While some fans were moved by the song choice, and feel saddened about this show going off-air, most felt this was a melodramatic song choice and argue that the end of the show is in no way 'a sign of the times' at all.

Fans React To Kim's Goodbye

Fans of the show may have tuned in to see what sort of shenanigans the Kardashians were up to, but that doesn't necessarily correlate to them having deep emotions about the conclusion of the series. One fan commented on Kim's goodbye video by making that clear, saying; "this is not a sign of the times, it's the end of just another reality show." Another fan wrote; "no! but like sign of the times in the background is too funny to me," and another said; "Oh God get over it, this is a misuse of Harry Style's song."

Clearly, Keeping Up With The Kardashians was a wildly successful show that helped to launch and sustain the careers of many of the members of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. There's no disputing the success of the show, but it's possible that Kim Kardashian overshot the relevance it had on today's society and overestimated the emotional connection fans would have to the conclusion of the show.
